You do realize that Olds went out of business years ago.
So you bought one anyway?
Now parts to support it!!

I would go to a dealer and give them the VIN# and get
3 Keys. Then program or whatever is necessary
Ask a tech in the service bay first
Just walk in from the outside like you own the place

When i go to start my 2004 Alero all the gauge lights come on but it won't start. The starter is still good. What could the problem be? Someone suggested that it was the neutral safety switch.

look for security light when you turn on key if it lights and doesn't go off leave key on for ten minutes then turn key off and then try to start

All comes on when key is turned on, starter will not engage when key turned to position. new starter, new battery, starter attempts to start car when jumped at starter relay 87 w/key on. car had started,...

Does the car have a factory security system? it may have a starter kill on it.
also check for voltage at the starter solenoid while someone holds the key to start position, you could have a faulty ignition switch.
the engine light stays on when the key is on until engine starts.

I turn the key on my 2000 alero 2.4l and nothing. the battery is new this past January. I am thinking that maybe the starter is bad? How do I est for his?

Hello: If the security lamp is NOT flashing then have some one hold the key in the start position and tap/hit the starter with a hammer it may start. If the starter does not respond to hitting it then take a test light and when the key is in the start position see if the test light comes on when you touch the small wire (purple) at the starter solenoid, remember to have someone hold the key in the start position when you do the test light test. If you have no voltage at the starter solenoid and the security light is flashing the you probably have a pass-lock security problem and you really need a scanner to interrogate the system to determine what component is giving the problem.

2000 maxima the security light keeps coming on

you might have to get another key from your dealership.each key is designed with a chip inside it to prevent the anti theft.

Car wont start has power has fuel and starter

The security system is activated. It kills the injector pulse ( signal) and on some modles the starter. You will need to try to relearn the system. First try to start the car, leave the key in the run position for 10 minutes. Cycle the key off, then cycle it to the run position again for 10 more minutes. Cycle it off again, then back to run for another 10 min. after the last cycle turn it off then try to start the car. It is a 30 minute relearn. If this does not work you will need a repair shop to replace the passlock sensor. Good Luck

Won't start, starter not doing anything, all fuses are good, but another starter on too see if that was the problem and the samething. Starter does nothing

if your security light stays on, its has a lock out device try this, turn key to on postion dont turn over just turn to on pos and wait 10 min now turn back off and try to start

My 2004 alero will not start

I have this problem all too often myself. Pop the hood, check to make sure the wires have not come undone. If they are on there securely, try and jump the battery if you have that option. Once jumped, it will give the battery more juice and you should be good to go. Please rate FixYa!
