Fix my power steering cheap

This very much depends on where the leak is coming from. Hoses are generally the weak point. As they get older they can deteriorate and then crack causing a leak. Ageing hoses tend to make the power steering fluid very dark (normally a light honey). There are two cheap temporary fixes to go for. Th first is self amalgamating silicon tape ("Rescue Tape"). Wrap this as tight as you can up and down over the leak in the hose about four layers thick. An alternative is to add 'power steering leak stop' fluid to your steering reservoir tank. You will need to take some fluid out with a turkey baster of if already low due to the leak just top it up. Circulate the fluid by running the engine and turning the steering wheel from lock to lock. The more expensive and long tem solution is to replace the hoses with new ones.

Sounds like your power steering pump is getting wore out im assuming that you have checked the tension on your power steering belt and its tight and that your power steering fluid is full id try changing your power steering pump you can probably pick one up from a scrap yard cheap also try this website rockauto.com for cheap new parts

Depends where the oil is leaking from!
Could be anything from a leaking bolt that needs tightening to a blown head gasket that needs a complete engine rebuild.

Starting with the 2000 model year, Dodge Durango's had what is called rack and pinion steering. It does not have a gear box.

The Chrysler racks are leak prone as well as known for having issues. What type of problem are you having?'

Try turning the wheel slightly and turning the key, this will relieve pressure off the steering lock mechanism. If that doesn't work, try tapping the key. That is a common problem on 99-05 Caravans

They do make power steering leak stopper although I have never had much success with it. I don't quite understand what you mean coolant lines for power steering because that I know of on your vehicle I don't believe there is a cooler for your power steering.

replace the power steering sensor, 30 bucks at NAPA, I had same problem and now I have O2 sensors bad because the power steering fluid pressurized the electrical lines and killed the O2 sensors

the multifunction switch in the steering column will fix this problem hope this helps.

this is going to be a power steering pump or rack, i would replace the pump, but it will be one or the other sorry no simple fix let me know what happens thanks

po 551 is a bad power steering sensor are you sure it is the trans leaking and not the power steering po 700 is the output speed sensor on the trans either one of them is not hard to change you can do it!!!!!
