The wipers relay is placed in the fuse box / relay plate, fascia 2, inside the car above pedals on driver's side. See pictures below:

The wipers work intermittently and I've been told I need a new wiper relay switch, but having problems locating one. 1998 Audi A4 1.9TDI. Have removed existing relay switch and it's 12V and 70A

The only place to get a wiper relay is from an Audi dealer. However, I have that same problem and the relay didn't fix it, I'm still trying to figure it out. I would try the relay first though, it's about $60 I think.

2001 Audi A4 Windshield Wiper Issues....Work on their own

The most likely cause of your symptoms is the wiper motor parking relay has become faulty, however there is a slim possibility the connections within your wiper switch could be an issue, but the relay would be my first and cheepest line of enquiry. Contact your local VAG dealer and expect to pay somewhere in the region of £15. Good luck

Audi a4 1998 wiper realy

do you mean how... or where is it located.... look under the hood for the fuse panel located there. basically you find the correct relay ... pull it out and replace it. there are more relays under the dash and i've heard the audi's also have them in the trunk.

Audi a4 wiper stops anywhere after 10 sweeps

Hi - had the same problem with mine last year - turned out to be a sticky relay. You can probably hear it clicking with each wipe. These are well over £20 from the dealer, around £5-10 from a breaker, or if you like a challenge (like me) you can unclip the plastic cover off the relay and lightly dress the contacts with a nail board! Good luck.
