I can't imagine what 'inline' oil filter should be; your engine is an 'inline 6' though.
This term applies to any engine that is not in a 'V' configuration.

Here is a quote I found while trying to find an illustration:

"It's a pain on the 02 4.3L . The damn thing is right next to the oil pan. It's probably half inch off the pan. Sometimes i wonder who design that idea."

Since GM isn't real quick to ditch engine designs, I suspect the mentioned 2002 and yours will be the same.

I have a '91 GMC 1500 sierra, which had the engine replaced. I need to know exactly what I have & am having great difficulty finding out. "638" is stamped on the block in sev. places, also has a tag on...

There has to be more to the stamped number...normally it is on the backside of the motor...but I am looking up that info you have provided.

2005 chevy silverado 4wd emc wiring harness for purge valve solenoid

I am having the same thing. I talked to a guy tonight said take the fuse block under the hood, and flip it. Look at the right side section, bottom left corner a thin red wire was burnt up inside the connectors. His friend works for the dealership told him where to look. Said so many of thesetrucks have this issue but Chevrolet wont do the recall. He also said check them all just in case. It wont cost you anything but a little bit of time. I'mchecking mine tomorrow. I had my transfer case rebuilt, new pushbuttons, new tccm, new transfer case motor, and still nothing. My next step was a auto electrical shop. I truly hope this helps because I know your pain. And stress.....oh the stress

What is the size of the engine non turbo 4 cylinder

There's several variants of the engine.

There's a 2.2L Inline 4 which came in turbo and non-turbo
There's a 2.5L Inline 4 which came in turbo and non-turbo
There's also a 3.0L V6 as well

But since you asked for the 4 Cylinder, it will either be 2.2L or 2.5L non turbo
