Thermostat
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
If the replacement thermostat is equipped with a &inch;jiggle
pin&inch;, the pin must be install facing upwards toward the top of
the engine (12 o'clock), and should be on the side facing the water
outlet. When installing the thermostat gasket, the seal print side
should face the cylinder head.

CAUTION
When draining the coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are
attracted by the ethelyne glycol antifreeze, and are quite likely to
drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the
ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantity. Always drain the
coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is
contaminated or several years old.

I'm not sure where' the screws are but basically You need to remove the panel on the rear door, then once the panel (interior trim) has been removed you should see a lock mechanism which will be screwed/bolted in place. Easier and cheaper then buying a brand new lock mechanism (unless you want to buy brand new) is going to a wreckers and finding your car model and get it that way (yes it's used but it'll probably save you tons of money vs the dealership) Best Regards.

hi this sounds like the EGR needs to be replaced as the voltage has exceeded its normal rate this is a sign of component failing these are not repairable and you will need a new one, i have put a link on here for you so you can see the in's and out's of the egr valve for you, these are normally located on the fire wall/bulk head just below the panel that holds the wiper motor mechanism but it could be anywhere in that area, the link also includes how to test these.

SOURCE: When I turn on heater or defrost, the vehicle does
if the operating temperature for the engine is normal, i would check to see if the valve that directs hot coolant to the heater core is moving. good luck.
