REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

If the replacement thermostat is equipped with a &inch;jiggle pin&inch;, the pin must be install facing upwards toward the top of the engine (12 o'clock), and should be on the side facing the water outlet. When installing the thermostat gasket, the seal print side should face the cylinder head.
2.2L Engine
See Figure 1
  1. Drain enough coolant to bring the coolant level down below the thermostat housing. the thermostat housing is located on the left front side of the cylinder block.

CAUTION When draining the coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted by the ethelyne glycol antifreeze, and are quite likely to drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantity. Always drain the coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or several years old.
  1. Disconnect the temperature sending unit wire.
  2. Remove the coolant outlet elbow.
  3. If so equipped, position the vacuum control valve out of the way. The vacuum control valve is not used on California trucks.
  4. Disconnect the coolant by-pass hose from the thermostat housing.
  5. Remove the thermostat and housing from the engine.
  6. Note the position of the jiggle pin and remove the thermostat from the housing.
  7. Remove all gasket material from the parts.

Fig. 1: Thermostat installation

To install:

  1. Position the thermostat in the housing with the jiggle pin up. Coat a new gasket with sealer and install it on the thermostat housing.
  2. Install the thermostat housing using a new gasket with water resistant sealer. Tighten the bolts to 14-19 ft. lbs. (19-25 Nm).
  3. Install the coolant outlet elbow and vacuum control valve (if equipped).
  4. Connect the by-pass and radiator hoses.
  5. Connect the temperature sending unit wire.
  6. Fill the cooling system with the proper coolant. Operate the engine and check the coolant lever. Check for leaks.

Hope helps with this (remember rated this).

sounds like a wheel bearing maybe faulty from your text it sounds like it could be the osf you could try jacking vehicle up with engine off handbrake applied and in neutral spin the wheel and see if it makes noise or wiggle it to see if it has any play possibly take off greade cap and see if any grease in bearing /

SOURCE: 2002 Mazda Tribute rear liftgate lock replacement

I'm not sure where' the screws are but basically You need to remove the panel on the rear door, then once the panel (interior trim) has been removed you should see a lock mechanism which will be screwed/bolted in place. Easier and cheaper then buying a brand new lock mechanism (unless you want to buy brand new) is going to a wreckers and finding your car model and get it that way (yes it's used but it'll probably save you tons of money vs the dealership) Best Regards.

SOURCE: Mazda Tribute 4cyl 2001 Yellow engine warning

hi this sounds like the EGR needs to be replaced as the voltage has exceeded its normal rate this is a sign of component failing these are not repairable and you will need a new one, i have put a link on here for you so you can see the in's and out's of the egr valve for you, these are normally located on the fire wall/bulk head just below the panel that holds the wiper motor mechanism but it could be anywhere in that area, the link also includes how to test these. http://www.kulls.com/egrsensors.htm
hope this helps

SOURCE: When I turn on heater or defrost, the vehicle does

if the operating temperature for the engine is normal, i would check to see if the valve that directs hot coolant to the heater core is moving. good luck.

What do I need to do to change a thermostat on a 2006 Mazda tribute?

google 2006 mazda tribute replace thermostat for more info. this job will require several tool correct coolant, gaskets and possible floor jack. I would not trust my life to a jack that came with vehicle. There is no universal coolant, but the correct type for your vehicle, not the universal green stuff.
