When an inner cv joint cause's a side to side shudder do you feel it in the steering wheel also? Because i dont have any movement in mine

Cv axles can be felt in the steering. I can tell the difference from the CV axles and a bad bearing. But when both are bad, you can't tell. Both will feel the same, but can make the same sound. The best way to check a CV axle is to pull it out. Then rotate the ends in a circular pattern. If it isn't smooth and has like a flat/catching spot. The axle is bad and will vibrate. You can hear it and feel it in the steering. Bearings will get loader or softer when turning left or right.

Replace axle but not cv joints

"What we have here is a failure to communicate". The axle comes with CV joints on the end. You will be buying the rebuilt assembly. Both axle and CV joints will refer to the same part in a front wheel drive application.

When I make a left turn there is a noise coming from the front drivers side wheel, someone told me it was the boot, where is it

Hello rkayet,

They may have been referring to the CV axle boot. When the CV axle boot gets damaged dirt and water get into the CV joint and wear the internal parts, this typically causes a clicking noise when turning.

Unless you have the tools to rebuild the CV axle it's best to buy a rebuilt CV axle (sometimes called a half shaft) from your local auto parts store.

your best off to do both inner and outer CV joints, but a rebuilt axle is not very expensive and a lot of times is the best remedy, shop around for a rebuilt axle

How do i remove cv axle for a 98 isuzu trooper

Go to my profile I have just explained how to change a cv boot on a Trooper. The axle needs to be taken out to change the boot so the same solution. What you call an axle I have refered to as a drive (short for driveshaft) It takes a lot of explaining so save me a lot of writing if you read the solution I gave for changing the CV boot. Cheer's

Can I just replace just one cv joint

Yes you can,I'm not sure if your refering to the whole axle or one cv joint on the axle.Replacing a cv joint is best left to a qualified mechanic, most cv joints require special tools and procedures to replace correctly.
