Hi i have a 1982 ford f150 4x4, my truck came from the factory with a 302 but beforei got it a 351w was installed. My problem is that i am going through starts like crazy i have checked to make sure i have the right flywheel and i do is there any suggestions
Need more info. What does it sound like when you turn the key? When you put in a new starter, does it sound normal when you crank it? Does it sound grindy or crunchy? 302 and 351w use same flywheel, so it isn't likely there's a mix up. What happens to the starter that makes you replace it? Is it a mechanical problem with the drive (bendix) or are they burning out electrically? Try not to leave out any details and your question will be answered faster.
sounds like you need a heavier duty starter. Talk to a starter re builder and tell him the problem and he will probably come up with a heavier starter that will do the job.

How does the power steering pump bracket fit on my 1982 ?Ford F150 pickup with a 6 cylinder 300 engine. Also need a belt diagram. I had someone remove the engine for an overhaul, and now he cannot remember how the power steering pump fit on the engine. I am afrain he may have lost the bracket, because this has been an ongoing project. I need a picture of the setup if that is possible. That is all he lacks completing re installing the engine. Thanks
