Sounds like it might be a slow leak in the hoses or airbag in the system, it takes a while before the compressor can recover from a leakdown. The cost depends on what is actually wrong.

My compressor went on my envoy as well. It was determined that the unit basically corroded and needed to be replaced. I'll assume you live in a northern climate as well. After getting the price for a new compressor from GM (astronomical) I went and purchased an after market unit and had it installed. Only drawback is that I have to inflate the airbags manually instead of the sensor inflating it. Bonus was that I saved about six hundred dollars going this route.

Envoy rear sagging

There is a level sensor connected to the lower control arm on the rear wheel on the drivers side. This operates the pump and lets air out if it is too high in the back.It can fail. Most likely the air pump has gone bad. Expect 800 + to fix it.

How long should it take for the self leveling rear suspension in a 2005 GMC Envoy XL Denali Edition to almost go empty. If i let the car sit overnight most of the air is gone and the rear is low, however...

The air suspension system should stay up for several days without going completely down, which probably means that you have a small leak which is quite common even on relatively new air bags or struts.

A general rule of thumb is that if the compressor isn't kicking on several times during a drive then they are good to go. The air bags are a pain to change, so most people don't change them until they are really bad.

05 envoy denali rear end deflates when parked. pumps back up and stays inflated while running. brought it in to dealership and they said they couldn't find any leaks

Mine does the same. Couldn't find a fix.I am not sure if this is weather dependent. It does more when it is cold. i am afraid that one day it will stay low where the hydrolic give up Please share your solution if any

I have 96 chevy silverado extended cab with a vibrationfrom the differential. I found a 2000 gmc Envoy rear end 5 lug. will this bolt up?

Most vibrations are driveshaft being bent, worn u-joint,in need of balance, shocks, wheels, tires and more.I will bet ,swapping the complete rear axle will not change a thing. If it is lifted, you should know your in for problems. If not, and all else fails, strip the rear housing and go through it. The one you swap, may be more worn than yours and not even a good core to rebuild.

Trouble With Air Ride Thats What the Gage Inside Said, I have a ford explorer eddy bauer 1998 i turn the truck off and i hear like a strange sound from the back like a shock absorber is going down and i...

Can you hear the pump kick in when you put weight in the back and the car is running? The way it works is there is a level sensor that mounts between the body of the car and the rear axle. When weight is added in the rear the compressor will add air until the vehicle is level. When weight is taken out of the car which could be the rear passengers getting out of the car the vehicle is now higher and the pump will release air to lower the shocks back to a level height. This is why youare hearing that sound. The pump will let air out of the system even when the engine is off to maintain a level ride. If you found this solution helpful please rate it.
