I replaced the BCM on a 2007 cobalt with a used unit. With the replacement installed a P0315 code comes up and the motor won't turn over.

You tripped the PASS Lock 3 security system. you can try turning the key on for 10 minutes off for 10 seconds 3 times in a row or you can tow it to chevy and have them reset your BCM.

SOURCE: I have a 2007 chevy cobalt.I have replaced the

Did you lube all your pivot points & linkage joints while you were at it, if not, that may help. Spray some lube at arm where it pivots near base as well. Are you sure they are the proper size blades, as in someone didn't decide to install bigger or double bladed or similar by chance did they, which would cause more load on motor.

SOURCE: security light comes on after driving for awhile

The communication between the key, the ignition lock cylinder and the BCM or TDM is key to the antitheft system working correctly. If there is any break or miscommunication for even a second, the security light will come on and possibly disable your vehicle. All too often when the security light is addressed, the first thought is to change out the igniton when more often than not the BCM or TDM computer is the problem. I have found that while fixing the system is ideal, bypassing the system is more cost effective and permanent. This system is known to fail and fixing a failed system is pointless in my eyes. Here is a link that explains the system and offers solutions that you can perform to fix this yourself

SOURCE: Need instructions on replacing airbags for 07 Chevy Cobalt.

If you are replacing air bags that means that they have been deployed. If they have been deployed then the body shop that has the car should be repairing this along with the other damage. This job should be left to a professional because they are very dangerous when handled improperly

If you hear noises when trying to operate the window, the window regulator is bad, if no noise then maybe its the motor and/ or regulator or switch

SOURCE: 2007 chevy cobalt ls won't

Ignition relay or fuse could be the problem. When you turn the key to start do you hear a fuel pump kicking on and or do you have spark when you hot wire the starter (I know it's hard to check while trying to start it)? You can email me back and I might be able to pinpoint it more.

2005 cobalt..back turn signals work, flashers work in the back, headlights work all around. Front flashers and turn signals come on, do not flash..help

Do you know anything about automotive electronic's ? BCM - body control modules ? DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes ?

Turn Signal Lamps
The body control module (BCM) is responsible for controlling the turn signals and hazard lamps. When the turn signal switch is placed in either the left turn or right turn position, the BCM receives a signal from the turn signal switch. The BCM then sends an on-off voltage signal to either the left or right turn signals and their instrument panel cluster (IPC) indicator. When the hazard switch is pressed, the BCM receives a signal from the hazard switch. The BCM then will send an on-off voltage signal to all the turn signal lamps. All the turn signal lamps will flash including both IPC turn signal indicators.

Hooking up a professional type scan tool an checking for DTC'S in the BCM would be the first step in the diagnostic procedure .

Where is the location for the relay turn signal 2007 cobalt

You won't find it because........there isn't one. The BCM (body control module) controls the flash. If you have no sound it could be a defective speaker.

P0315

What repairs were done on the vehicle lately? This is a crankshaft positioned sensor code. If no one went near the sensor, the wiring, trigger wheel, connector, or sensor could be bad. Easiest fix: change the sensor. Right fix: check out the items I mentioned above before spending any money.

Having problem with signal lights. Is there a fuse box or panel in the 2007 Cobalt? If so, where is it located?

Hi, look in the owner's manual starting at page 380 for fuse panels, however if the signals are not working the problem is usually with the body control module or the switch on the wand. There is no fuse for the turn signals. There is no flasher either, as all signal functions are integrated into the BCM.
I see a BCM on ebay for $75 here:

Make sure your switch is good before buying a BCM. Let me know symptoms if you want diagnosis.

Replaced stock bcm with used. Was reprogramming with the method of turning key to start position (vehicle won't start) then leaving it in the on postition for approx 10 minutes until the theft lock...

A used body control can be used in a vehicle other than the vehicle it was installed in. the body control module when first installed is programmed with the vehicle vin number. the vin number can not be changed was it was written to the BCM. the oprions can be always change in the BCM but not the VIN number. basically the used bcm you have installed has the vin number from the vehicle was installed in, now the vin number in the used BCM doesnt match all the other control modules
