Last week my daughter bumped into a light pole in our front yard and the airbag went off. Luckily there was no damage to the windshield or any body damage as she was barely moving. The only problem is the seatbelt won't extend or move at all. We had a new airbag installed at the dealership but they are telling us we need to put in a new seatbelt as well. Does this make sense as she was not wearing it when the accident occured. She was only going up the driveway (15 feet) Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

The main relay is a common issue with Civics. Luckily, they are abundant and cheap. If you were sitting in the passenger seat, it would be in front of your left knee, just up and under the glove box. Let me guess? You have that steady non-starting sound? Car is trying to start but won't? Good luck dear, and remember you can get these pretty inexpensively. Ebay, junk yards, and any other parts stores. I prefer INTEX for new parts.
hi, the problem you have is their is no way of tightening them the only thing you can do is clean and oil them but to do this you would need to take them off any way, your best solution would be to go to a breakers yard and pick a couple up you should get these for next to nothing and this would solve your problem.
Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance
any automatic (ELECTRIC SLIDING) seatbelts in a honda car have a LIFETIME WARRANTY thru ANY HONDA DEALER (free of charge). just give them a call and ask about setting an appointment to take your car in for service.
u will have to replace those vehicle impact sensors...remember some vehicles are different . never had to do it the past doesnt always mean its not the problem now...there is also more than those 2 front impact sensors in that vehicle..i know there are a couple inside the vehicle as well. under the front carpet and seats..the impact sensors inside the car are for ur side impact airbags and can be bad or reading deployed even if they didnt blow..good luck ...
I'm having the same problem, my SRS light is on too. Just so you know, I just got a thing in the
mail from Honda for my 2001 Honda Civic DX Sedan for a recall on the
airbag system (SRS is part of the same system as airbags, I think). Hope
this gives you a bit more info!!
if ur seatbelts are defective, it wont cost u anything. take it back to the dealer and tell them u want to have ur srs light looked at and trouble codes pulled. the seatbelts are lifetime warranty as long as the vehicle hasnt been in an accident
