Having the same problem with mine. Did you ever get yours figured out?
have any luck yet with your problem
Not really...had the truck towed to a service shop and the tow truck driver started the truck to drive it off.....no clue...spent 6 hours working on it the day before and couldn't get it to do anything.
Got truck back from the shop for the second time with no codes and nothing specific identified other than it seems to have too much fuel. I have talked with a chevy mechanic that says I need to check the fuel pressure regulator as it may be leaking internally in the intake manifold while the vehicle is sitting. When it is cold enough out that the gas isn't evaporating it ends up flooding out...I hope to pull the intake and check things out yet if not by the weekend over the weekend. Will post my findings either way...
good luck to ya ,hope i have some luck with mine lol,let me know what happens
Pulled the upper air intake tonight...the lines from the CPI to the injectors do not look good and there appears to be a washing affect on the inside...I am going to bite the bullet and install a new unit with a new pressure regulator...hopefully the local Autozone has one in stock...will let you know if it solves the problem...by the way...parked the truck in the garage to work on it and it started right up tonight before I started tearing things apart...
just wanted to know how it is going, mine still doing the same too, about to go crazy .keep me updated please!!!!!!
Let us know how it goes. My 2000 S-10 has been hesitating when trying to start it up in the cold mornings. I usually get her going, and then later on, once the engine is hot, she starts up fine. The mechanic hasn't figured out the problem; it's in the shop now.
having the same problem with mine ,let me know how it goes
Well so far so good. New MFI injection system installed ($299.99 tax at three different national chain stores - all made by the same manufacturer...ouch )and it is running better than any time since I have had it. No hesitation at start and it was -5 this morning. No hesitation during take off either. Another improvement for me came in that I found a bad vacuum line which since I have replaced it I have not had any more grinding noise coming from the transfer case. Was thinking the locking switch was bad....$1.50 hose is a lot less then the switch.
A little additional info...I did this in 2 evenings...could have been 1 if I had the parts ahead of time...If you are going to pull the upper air intake, many directions state that you need to drain the radiator and full the line off the top of the motor...I did not do that. It is a little tricky and very tight fit to get in and out but I saved a lot of time and hassle by not doing it. Any questions let me know.
Well, here's the latest...... last Thursday, the truck decided it was time for another challenge...blown intake gasket. It was parked in the drive and went to pull it into the garage and....back to no start. This time I was able to check under the hood before things got too far. If the engine doesn't start right away, the injectors keep pumping fuel in and it floods. While I had the engine apart to install the new gaskets on Sunday, I took the opportunity to install a new cap, rotor and coil. From my investigations, the coil had a little discoloration around the magnet that looked like arc tracks so I think that may be some of the problem. I did not actually get a voltage reading from the coil, but I believe the coil was not sending a strong enough arc when damp or cold to have the spark plugs fire. So far so good. The weather has been pretty nasty with dampness and snow and starting tonight the temps go below zero so the test is on its way. Will keep everyone posted.
