If you remove the inner door panel of the door there will be plastic weather shield covering most of the door. Use a hair dryer or heat gun to heat the weather shield up and slowly peel it away. There will be 2 (10mm I believe) bolts on the inside of the door panel to release the handle (have someone catch it from the other side). To re-install simply connect he handle rod and 2 bolts then place the door panel back on and your done. A word of advice is be gentle with the door panel so not to damage the door pins or crack the plastic. Taking your time can be fun when learning a car ;).

How do I take off the door panels to replace the interior/exterior locks for the '99 corolla?

start by taking out the screw in the door handle, take the door handle off, (slide it out) next you have to pry off the soft rubbery arm rest cover, there will be two screws under there take them out and the rest of the door panel is held on by rivets, just pop the panel out and lift it up to slide it off, good luck

How to replace '96 Ford Explorer driver side exterior door handle

You will need to remove the door panel to gain access to the handle. Roll the window up or down as needed to get to the nuts that attach the handle to the door. You will also need to remove a rod the goes to the door lock. You will see the rod after the door panel is removed. Good luck.

ok. first u remove the door panel(s), with the window rolled up, u will be able to see the back side of the exterior door handle. there will be three bolts, they are size 10metric. there is also a rod attached to the handle held in place by a plastic clip, remove the rod, then remove the three bolts. from the outside remove the exterior door handle being careful not to scratch painted surface. Repeat for the other door(s). Repeat this for installation.
