Question about 2001 Ford Explorer

On my ford explorer truck when i stop it acts like it wants to go forward

6 cylinder automatic , ford explorer sport trac. The engine light came on a few months ago. It was doing perfect. But the last couple of months , when you go to slow down, it acts like it wants to go forward.

If all 6 coils are factory original,
replace them all.
You may have a 304 & it may not even
be the bad coil or you have several bad.
Change sprk plugs every 3 year
Change front O2 Sensors at 100,000

You have grounded wiring or a bad Driver
in the PCM-- if it comes on when you put battery
voltage to it

try changing your tranny fluid and in the torque converter. if that does not help check torque converter and clutch plates

2003 sport trac turned over started...died will not restart.

Could be bad altenator, voltage regulator, or battery. If the check engine light is on, it is most likely a bad sensor. The car will have to be put on scanner to find out exact reason light is on.

it has a miss, the light will have a trouble code stored with it that will tell u which cylinder is missing, have it tested.

Most common is a failing brake light switch. If the brake lights don't come on when the shifter is stuck and they work when the shifter works you need a new switch.
