My 67 year old husband saved all his life for a Jaguar. Well now he's got one; against my better judgement. He loves this car. It is his retirement gift to himself. Now we have the car it has all these...

Sorry to hear this. The keys - if correct for the car will open the door manually with no need for electrical assistance. If the fob fails the correct action to take is to open the door manually with the key and immediately put the key in the ignition and start the car. If you open the door manually you will hear a chime - this is counting down to sounding the alarm as it knows the door has been opened but not with the fob which is used to reset the alarm. It may be that the car has not been opened with the key for many years and the door locks are corroded - try spraying WD40 into the locks and work them with the key. Failing all the above - its call the Mechs time.
Hope this helps - good luck.

Key won't open trunk. car has no electronic opener

1. make sure you have the right key
2.spray some WD 40 into the key slot
3 Push doe on trunk lid as you turn the key.
4. When you get it open, Lubricat the lock and latch mechanism with a grease, not oil. The oils in the grease will find its way around to the moving parts Good luck. Don't force the key to turn. and don't bottom it out when you insert it.
