I assume 'off track' means you can hear the motor but the pane doesn't move - well, maybe up but not down.
You can probably move the pane up and down by hand too.

If that is the case, you will have to remove the inside door panel for access and this can be easy or tough, depending on the vehicle.

I suggest you buy a Chilton or Haynes manual for your car (<$20 US) so you don't do more damage than necessary removing the panel. It will serve you in other things too. (I don't own stock in either.)

Once you have access, you can clean up the track that the glass has escaped from, clean the lower lip of the glass, run a good bead of silicone adhesive in the track and then start the edge of the glass in the track which may or may not have a rubber seal protecting the glass edge.
All surfaces that need glue should be very clean.

Having done this myself (on a Jeep) I blocked the upper seal of the window frame with a strip of sheet metal so the pane could not enter its normal seat.
Then I let the motor push the pane into the track.

If you seem to have gotten things lined up OK, do NOT operate the window for at least 24 hours as silicone cures slowly and having the thing pull free again would mean a repeat of the above.

Replace window motor schematicsdiagram

The window could be binding in the track. As a quick fix, lower the window completely and use an old tooth brush to clean the track. If there is no improvement, it is possible that the motor is becoming weak or the track is misaligned or damaged

Hello I have 2001 Passat. All electric Windows dont work. When im trying to Open them I Can hear the Window Motor Clicking But No Movement CCM seems to be ok. Fuses OK. Wires To CCM ok. Mabe relay what...

The cable has come off the track, because the plastic guides have broken, and you have to replace the track assembly in each door. You can tell that everything else is good, because the motor is turning. It is a common problem and replacing the track is quite expensive on that car. You can buy the track assembly on eBay though and save yourself half the cost of the parts, but the labor could run around $200 to $300 per door. Hope this helps and have a nice evening. Peter

The drivers side window wont come.up in my 99 ford windstar is this specific fuse possibly

All windows are given power by the same fuse. A lot of times it is a bad switch. More involved, can be a window motor or track assembly. Test the switch first by removing it from the door and jumping the wires in the connector. (use a test light or multimeter to determine which plug socket has voltage,) If that works, replace the switch. If not, do you hear the window motor hum? If not, bad motor. If it does, window may be off the track, jammed in the track, or the track (regulator) assembly needs replaced. (those usually come with a new motor and arent too awful bad to put in.)

How to replace power window motor for 2003 dodge

That's unusual for a window motor to go bad, however the plastic track breaks causing the window to become inoperative. If you hear the window motor working, then the plastic geared strip is probably broken. It would be cost effective to you to first find out whether the plastic track is broken for now Chrysler sells a "generic" window track where you cut the plastic track to fit Your Vehicle. Should this be the case, then remove the door panel (a Haynes Manual would come in handy), and take out one pin in the plastic track, while supporting the Window! (smile) and remove the old track and re-install the new track.

A little secret here...buy some Mopar Speedometer Grease while buying the Window Track and grease the metal rail that the plastic track rides on. The Speedometer grease is NOT temperature sensitive, so it works well in Summer & Winter Temperatures.

Should it truly be your Window Motor, Chrysler sells a re-build kit for the Window Motor which has the gears and grease needed to replace the worn out ones in the head of the Window Motor rather than paying for a "Brand New" window motor. All of this (the plastic window track AND the Window Motor Kit), will be under $100.

I hope this helps you,

Front door window will not go up

If it wont go up and down with either switch then it would be either the window track or the motor. It could be that the window motor just is not getting power from a wire being damaged too. If it were the fuse I beleive in this model neither window would work.
I hope this helps you.

I have a Ford EF Futura wagon , the drivers door electric window will go down but not back up, how can I get the window to go back up, is it possible for me to fix this problem at home? Thanks Les

Hi,

You should first determine if the window switch (centre console) is sending power to the door motor, in the "UP" position.

If the motor is 'trying' to operate (i.e. you can hear the motor click when switch is UP), then the glass may simply be jamming in the tracks, or needs adjusting on the regulator rail.

I would recommend you buy some Graphite Powder and springle it down both the inner/outer tracks to lubricate.

If no power is evident to the motor, then you should suspect bad (or damaged) contacts inside the switch.

If you're unsure about the switch but confident enough to remove the inner door card/panel, then you can try connecting each of the window motor "wires" to a terminal of another car battery - this will manually operate the window motor. Then, connect to opposite battery terminals to power the motor in the opposite direction.

If the window motor proves faulty, then obtain you could obtain a 2nd hand electric door regulator from your local auto wrecker.

Cheers,

Toyota sienna conductor power window dont work ,it would get down but won't get up

The conductor meaning the drivers door window? Sure a common problem with mre than one solution. Depends if you left the window down in the rain plwed your POP or other refreahing beverage on the switch or its got a lot of use on it and the motor wore out or the baby standed on the switch Windows do come off the track and get hard to move and even the motor will time out. inspect switch as the fuses are good if the other windows work as the same fuse works them all. Theres only two wires going from the switch to the motor and they just reverse to go the other way and theres a relay that energizes to make the window go all the way down on one push. But not up. It takes more power to put the window up tand therefore an old motor will not be able to close a window that it just opened. Jogging the switch to up while banging on the inside of the door way shake the motor into it's last try. grab the glass and help it close. Then fix it or have it fixed when you get time or money as Motors are $80 Window regulaters are $160 and the man with his hand out for fixing it going to be over $80 and hopefully under$200
