Sounds like the cylinder head gasket is away. Did you run without any water in the radiator or did engine overheat prior to the problem?

Over heating and steam from radiator. Replaced thermostat and radiator tempature switch what else could cause this?

A bad water pump would cause that also. If your radiator is partially blocked you will also overheat.

Hi and welcome to fixya,

I had the same problem before. You'll need to have the radiator either checked, flushed or replaced. It could have occumulated deposits which clog the circulation and contributes to heat problems. Also make sure that the water pump is functioning properly. Either of these two causes overheating.

Hope this helps

Hello my 1994 camry toyota has a problem holding the water. We replaced the thermostat, fan switch, radiator cap, and it keeps comsuming the water. What do you think the problem might be? Javier

Javier, have you checked the coolant overflow tank for holes, cracks, or loose hose? When the engine in your car heats up, the coolant expands. The coolant overflow tank (located near the radiator) takes up any coolant that is forced out of the radiator. If the tank is damaged or not connected to the radiator correctly, the coolant will not siphon back into the cooling system when the engine cools off.

Change the radiator cap, it may be the wrong pressure rating which will cause the coolant to boil at a much lower temperature than designed.
