Question about 1997 Audi A4
I have let the battery go flat on m A4 as it has been standing for a couple of months. I attempted to start it at the weekend with jump leads, it turned over quite easily, however, it was filing to fire.
Is the key coded and does it need re setting after a flat battery?
This could be due to the battery going dead. The key is coded as a security feature. Take help of Audi service to reset the code. The Engine Control Module may be failing to recognize your key.

Hi. when u insert ur key and turn to on position with out it turning over check the light display and see if the light flashes with the car&key symbol if that is the case then it is a problem on the key and the imobiliser is not disabling properly have the batteries changed in the key or your key might need reprogramming.
