What you do is pressure test the cooling system. The pressure will cause fluid or air to come out at your leak. The rust does not sound good. Fix the leak (s), flush system, and replace coolant. Consider "mechanic in a can" rust inhibiter, but stay away from stop leak, fix leaks properly. the cooling system just need to work correctly, it builds up near 15 lbs of pressure and stop leak cannot properly stop that pressure.

2002 tribute v6 holds water all day no leaks then once it's parked & off for the night come out in the morning & there will be coolant on the ground.perfect all day running & parked then leak at night

First is it really coolant Put a piece of cardboard down where you see the drip check before you start the car in the AM Color/Feel/Smell this will tell you if Antifreeze/Water from Exhaust start up/ or Oil like power steering etc. Didn't indicate if you've been losing antifreeze? Check all fluids you could have a Windshield wiper fluid leak too.

4 cyl., 5 speed. Why is it leaking somewhere under the frame - not transmission fluid

Smell the fluid. If it smells like gasoline you have a gas leak. If it smells like antifreeze you could have a hose or a anti freeze cooler line leaking. Or could be a water pump leaking and running along the frame under the car. Get a flash light and crawl under neath the vehicle and see where the fluid is coming from.

Locate AC drain line

ac drain pipes are on the passenger side front floor area (just about where your feet go) under car when cars heater core gets a hole in it lots of times antifreeze will leak inside car on floor try to get a small sample of fluid thats leaking out with a tissue or something (white In color) see what color fluid is ,see if fluid is slippery like oil or not (rub it between fingers)
Antifreeze= orange or green in color
Transmission oil = red or brown
motor oil = brown to black
washer fluid = Blue or drk orange
ac condesate= clear water (cold)

Hey Angel, you say water, not antifreeze, could be your windshield wiper fluid container.A.C. run off is the other water that could be it but it's probaly the wiper fluid.is your container low,add to it ang mark it with pen and see if fluid goes below pen mark.Your fluid pump may be mounted on side of tank and leaking there.

Radiator flushing , brownish coolant in reservoir

That brownish color is caused by oxidation(rust) of the waterways in the engine block. Dont worry, your engine wont rust through. This is normal on any car. Just flush it out until the water runs clear. Refill with water and use a good antifreeze as well as it contains rust inhibitors.

I am leaking a huge amount of water and i dont

If you smell antifreeze inside the cab then it will going to be a heater core leak.

Use white paper and see if the fluid green (or same color as you radiator coolant.

ID the fluid is VERY IMPORTANT right now.

Condensation fluid from AC is just water.

There is a condenser drain behind the dash (near center). The passage way can be clogged and water may spill out on sharp let or right turn,

ID the color of the fluid first.

Monitor the coolant fluid level. If it goes do the look for the source of the leak.

DON'T WAIT.

MOst of this cars come with a dark blue color antifreeze, replacing the af every year improves engine performance and durability, try to use one with corrosion inhibitors and water pump lubricants.

Slight leak from bottom of radiator

Transmission fluid will be red in color. Radiator antifreeze will be a different color either lime or orange. Antifreeze has a slimy consistency while trans fluid is simply oily. Put a piece of cardboard under the engine to see if you can pinpoint exactly where it is coming from. Could it be condensation from the a/c? If so, that will be clear water.
