Question about 1995 Chevrolet Camaro

1 Answer

Won't start! really need advise!

Note: i only have 130k on my car. i was driving and i was about to pass this car in front of me..and i was just oging around them and i had to push the petal down & it was about to "kick in" when it made a loud popping noise.
and started shaking pretty bad...i could still drive but i didn't want to with it shaking like that. So i pulled over and it was still shaking...i turned it off and popped my hood..my boyfriend checked my oil and it was fine and didn't smell burnt. I did need an oil change but i wasn't that many miles overdue. so he told me to try to start it again and it just clicked.
everyone says my engines locked up but my friend could turn the belt. so i dont know
but if it is how much would an engine cost?

thank you SOOO much. because i really love my car.
& if i get it fixed do you think it will continue to have problems in the future? because i know nothing about cars and if camaros are known for problems then i don't want one.

If you are talking about not able to turn the key, then move the steering wheel back and forth while you are turn the key. That should unlock your steering column.
If you are talking about car not starting after you turn the ignition, then it could be the starter. If it's the starter, you would hear a clicking sound but no cranking

What is the drive cycle for a 01' Chevrolet Venture?

Drive cycles can be done in about an hour. 15 minute intervals.
First at highways speeds. Second at 45 MPH. Third at 30 MPH. Fourth at stop and go traffic. So from the highway to the city. Or replicate it on country roads. Just a note. drive cycles don't really effect emissions. You may won't check state requirements, or take it to another shop. or ask another shop.

2005 Volvo S40 High temperature light comes on and now it won't start

Seems like the temp sensor is grounded after the heat up, Unhook the battery positive terminal for 3 minutes, make sure the coolant is full in the radiator, hook the positive terminal on the battery and start the vehicle, IF it does not start scan for codes and let me know, what codes you find?

I recently bought a 93' Grand Prix, it's only 130k

If it acted like it wanted to start, then I would suspect the fuel pump. Try hitting the bottom of the tank, this sometimes jars the pump to start working again. If it works you can drive it, but you will need to replace the pump, it will only do this so many times.

I have an 1997 chevy camro rs w a 134000 miles that is overheating the engine an water pump has been replaced an i stil cant find what is causing it to overheat

It could be the thermostat not opening and closing as it should. Or it could be a bad overflow/radiator cap. If the cap starts to go bad, it won't hold pressure and this will cause overheating. Good Luck. There are other major issues possible, but hopefully it's not. Start the engine cold and as the engine warms you should feel the thermostat open and water flowing as you hold the radiator hose, just be careful around moving fans.

Hello experts, I have 2004 Subaru Forester XT with 130K. I did a transmission flush at about 90K. The transmission shifts hard form 1st to 2nd at low speed, and there is slight jolt on faster...

No, and add some Trans X slip stop and leak stop, sold by K and W. about 16 ounces, this really helped my Forester, as a lot of them have this issue with the clutch pack in the tranny. sold at most auto parts stores and Wal Mart. take care.

Hard up and down-shifting into 2nd gear - manual transmission

I have seen this happen in numerous cars, I have a mazda that does that, my buddy has an 04 suzuki aerio that does that etc etc etc.... There really ins't a "fix" for that as it really is just what late model manual trannys do, all you can do is just let your car warm up. If you are really concerned you can throw a new tranny on there but once it gets broken in it will start doing that too. Sorry!

Hey

Most times when you have a cut in power when the RPM's are high that's most likely a "SPARK" problem. However it can also be a "GAS " problem. Does check engine light come ON if it is or even if it NOT ON there can still be a Code stores in your computer. My first thing would be a BAD CRANK sensor/CAM sensor. This is my recommendations you should have this vehicle place on a code scanner/computer AUTO-ZONE does this check for free then get the codes if any is present and get back to me asap. I strongly thing it would be a crank sensor but if not there is a 20% chance its a FUEL PUMP can meet the demand when you hit the gas therefore then engine starves and dies. LEt me know how you made out. Good Luck and Thanks for using FIX YA
