I am assuming you are talking about the ac heater fan? You need a new fan speed resistor, I think your mechanic is confused and this you are talking about the engine cooling fan? Let me kno please rate
You will need to replace your heater core as I bet if you lift up the carpet you will find it damp because thats where you are loosing the fluid. It is undectable unless you lift up the carpet and the foam padding. Also change out your Coolant temperature sensor under the throttlebody. You may also have a bad water pump and or (as you face the the engine) the upper right plastic part of the Radiator may be cracked leaking only when hot.
Never use a stop leak additive especially to the Venture; it has an inferior coolant system. One other item is you may have installed an either overrated temperature or underrated Thermostat causing open and closure issues....The Venture needs the precisely rated Thermostat. Let me know how you fare.
check if your thermostate is working... is it having troubles getting to operating tempurature?
check your heater lines that run to the heater core and see if there is heat getting to and from the heater core if the thermostat is running properly...
if you have heat running to and from the heater core then check and make sure your heater controls in the van are switching between defrost and heat and floor properly
could be a heater box problem ....
when i had the same problem with my venture it turned out to be a plugged heater core and i replaced it
Test the motor first, The wire to it is a hot positive wire and the motor's housing is the ground. If that works ok next check the resistor to see if its burnt out. Did you look at your fuses first?
4th clutch hub splines are stripped off. GM didn't harden the splines until 2004 or so so the early model gradually wear to the point where they are so thin they strip off - and then, no 4th gear
I had the same problem with a 97 transport. Here is a couple solution to your locked radio problem. This is assuming you have the ACDelco radio original to the vehicle. One way is to allow the vehicle to warm for an hour. After warming the vehicle press either the 1/2 or 3/4 or 5/6 buttons together. In two on the sequences, a three digit code will come up. Write these codes down. I called the original seller of the vehicle, (if known) or a GM dealer. Speak with the parts or service department. They do not have the 4 digit code to unlock the stereo, though they can make a call to ACDelco and get the code. The other way is to take it to a dealer and have them erase the code, which is approx. 30-50 dollar depending on the service station. Hope this helps.
your installing an aftermarket cd player in place of factory radio?
it would be best to buy the harness adapters. they plug into the factory harness and will tell you what all the wires are. harness is usually only 10-15 dollars. here is the diagram also.
