Question about 1996 Ford Explorer
I have charged the A/C and it is full and if I jumper across the Clutch to the battery I can get it to engage but not by itslef. I have swapped the relay out with the fuel pump relay with no change. I have checked the fuse inside the vehicle on the side of the Dashboard. I have rewired from the clutch to the first junction and it worked for 1 evening and now does not work any more. I did notice that there was a loop in the wiring off the clutch but I ran I ran it back straight. Any help would be appreciated. Is there a fusable link in this wiring and should I re-wire the loop?
FIRST THOUGHT, I WOULD REWIRE THE LOOP EXACTLY LIKE IT CAME ORIGINALLY. NEXT YOU NEED TO CHECK THE LOW PRESSURE SWITCH LOCATED ON THE DRYER. YOU CAN DO THIS BY UNPLUGING THE SWITCH AD JUMPING THE TWO WIRES ON THE HARNESS. IF THE COMPRESSOR COMES ON, I WOULD SUSPECT THE LOW PRESSURE SWITCH TO BE BAD. LET ME KNOW IF THIS HELPS.
