While in say 3rd or 4th and your foot off of the clutch apply the gas and break at same time, you should be able to lug the car to a stall with out the engine reving. but if the clutch breaks free and the engine revs then you prob have no cluch left or you have a pressure plate problem. doesnt matter because you will replace both nomatter which is bad. If you are getting a clutch that releases way at the top or slip while being reliesed you may just have an adjustment issue. MrRodneyLong@gmail.com

Ran out of gas on 89 Acura Integra, car won't re-start

pull tow the car and pop the clutch to jumpstart. when u run out of gas sometimes u get an air bubble in the line and it has to be pushed up to a certain speed then pop the clutch in second or third gear and it should start.

Can i put a 1994 acura integra ls trans to replace a 1989 acura i

I don't think this would be possible wihtout some hassles.

The engine type build changed twice between the 89 and the 94 series integra.

I would suggest you speak to Honda specialised mechanic before you purchase the 94 tranny.

Also check out the Honda forums as they ahve guys who have done some handy things with the ol integra

Why does s3 and s4 on integra start flashing

I found this one the www.hondacarforum.com
http://www.hondacarforum.com/honda-technical/28562-i-have-1989-honda-integra-can-any-one-tell-me-what-s4-gear-stick.html

You have a couple of choices on this Honda transmission... D and S modes. Consider the D as the normal Drive mode and the S for Sport mode. The difference between the two is that in "D", the transmission will shift through the gears all the way to 4th gear and at lower rpm shift points. In "S", the transmission will shift at higher rpm levels and will go no higher than 3rd gear and light S3 on the dash. Once the vehicle is in 3rd gear (S3) you can then press the S4 button and the transmission will go into 4th gear (when conditions dictate). I believe there is even an S4 indicator on the dash signifying the trans is in 4th gear

The last line looks like it is the key here though.

If the car thinks its in 4th gear when you are trying to start it, obviously it wouldn't start...you could probably hunt around and see if there is a sensor on the transmission stick that runs the "D" vs "S" mode

Can you put the motor and 5 seed transmission from a 1993 acura integra into a 1994 honda prelude s

No, your car is set up for hydraulic transmission linkage and the Integra is a cable clutch. The mounting would also be a nightmare. The Integra's front motor mount is way different than the Accord and Prelude. Wiring harness would be another nightmare. Just find an Si, they are pretty cheap now.
