Hello, my son has a 2003 prot?g?. The hydraulic fluid is leaking someplace checked all the brake lines , shifts just fine cannot find any leaks.

Most cars also have a hydraulic clutch with 'master-slave system' that could be leaking. Also transmission fluid.
Hope this helps.

do a compression test on each cylinder. If you have good compression, the problem is either fuel or spark. grab a manual and a code scanner and a voltmeter and start diagnosing if you have good compression. If you have bad compression, find another engine.

Speed sensor

The sensor should be in the side of the transmission.
The speedo would stop working, or you would have shifting troubles with the transmission. And you would have a check engine light on with a trouble code for the sensor.

Where is transmission fluid locted in a 1990 mazda protege

I would ask Standard or automatic since the vehicle came with both as an option but it really doesn't matter. The fluid is located in the Transmission itself. If you have an automatic there is a dip stick located near the firewall under the hood you can use to check the fluid level with. If it is a Standard or manual transmission you will have to locate the check fill plug on the transmission under the vehicle to check the fluid level with the end of your finger.

Does a mazda 323f 2001 model need gearbox oil change after some milage or is it a sealed unit?

Automatic and standard transmission needs fluid change every 24 months. On automatic transmissions, the gasket needs to be changed as well as the filter. On standard transmission there is a drain plug that can be loosened up, and refilled through the refill hole. Standard transmission use gear oil, while automatic transmission uses automatic transmission fluid.
