Question about 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue

1 Answer

A/C BLOWER I have a olds '99 intrigue that may be having some electrical problems. Sometimes, the driver side window will not roll down, the e-brake indic. stays on, my blinkers and hazards sometimes don't work, and the main problem is that whenever i turn on the high blower to get some a/c or heat, it stays on no matter what, even if the car is turned off and the key is out of the ignition, and that in turn wears down the battery. So i opened the secondary fusebox (on the passenger side betwixt the glove box and the door) and simply removed the fuse for the high blower. I just wanted to know if anyone else had this problem and if there is a way it could be repaired

Older cars sometimes have many difficult problems, especially the wires problem, it is very hard to find out which wire got trouble, I think your Olds wire got hot sometimes before and some wires connected together and by pass.

Olds is GMC products, the plastic sucks easy to melt, sometimes also cause the engine over heat, because the cooling fan doesn’t work right.

Good luck, my friend.

I own a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica and for about a year now the left side parking lights have not worked. The brake light will come on when the brakes are pressed, changed all of the bulbs multiple times to no...

I had the same issue. Disconnect the battery for 15-30min. This will allow the Integrated Power Module (IPM) or sometimes called the fuse panel, to reset. Many other web fixit sites reference this. Apparently, the parking light circut is controlled by a solid state breaker and not a fuse in the IPM,

Where is the ebcm located in the engine compartment of a 2000 intrigue olds?

Should be on the driver's side. Follow the brake lines from the master cylinder. There will be a block about 4 to 5" square with many brake lines connecting to it. On one side of the block will be one or two electrical connectors. This is the ECBM.
BTW, I had a problem with mine and got it rebuilt online for about $150.00.

Electric Window not working. Need to know how to remove front door panels. Passenger door window completely down, but can hear lift motor running.

Sounds like you have a problem with your window regulator. you need to unbolt the motor from the panel and take window off the regulator. I also have a 99 intrigue and my drivers side window did the same thing. The wire cords on the regulator where frayed and we replaced it. Found a new one of Autopartswarehouse.com for about $42 dollars with the motor.

The driver side window button does not roll the window up or down, but the other windows work fine. Could the problem be in the button or the motor?

Its the window switch. I stopped getting "clicking" action on my driver side/driver window button, so I switched it with one from a back window (meaning I couldnt roll down the back one from the driver side control anymore. This was temporary. I went to the junk yard and of 12 98/99 devilles, all of them had the switch pulled already. It is a pretty common problem I guess. New aftermarket cost around $80. All you need is a screwdriver to get at it, plug in the new one and you are fine.

99 olds intrigue with the 3.5 motor and ABS light staying on

What you will have to do is get the codes from the ABS module. This will let you know what sensor or wiring is bad.But you need the code to diagnose the problem.Yes it could be a hub but you need to know which hub bearing. It could also be wiring.Best to get codes.Hope this helps.A Good luck.

Driver side power window won't go up.I didn't drive the car over the winter and now he window is **** half way. I can't roll it down or up.

You might have some trash in the tracks, but I bet its more like the motor is bad. It always intrigues me, but the right side window of cars seems to be the first to go. Maybe its because of the lack of use in comparison to the drivers side.

My driver side window will not roll back up

You need to remove the door panel and make sure you are geting power to the window motor. The best way to do this is to use a test light and loop the test light in the window motor connector with it unplugged from the motor and work the switch up and down.If the test light lights up in both directions the motor needs to be replaced. You should also inspect the regulator for damage. If the test light does not light in one or either direction you may have a bad switch.

99 Olds Intrigue, blower fan resistor

It will burn out. Air flow in the heater box cools the resistor. These resistors get very hot when the blower is running.

Windows will not operate on my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

window relay module probably went bad. theres a window relay under the dash you have power . try getting a wiring diagram mabey at an auto parts store or the library. so you can trace the problem down . short of taking the doors apart and checking the motors that drive the windows . Old fix with the old school cars bang on the doors from the inside with fist . it sometimes works the connections on the old school cars . Its stupid but it worked to get the window up .
