could be a lot of things. Do you hear a muffled pop noise from the engine when this happens? could be bad plugs, or a bunch of other things. need more info.
mcdevito75 here, Sounds as though you have a worn or broken timeing belt, or problem with -in the ignition system of the engine. Have the shop check it out for you.
its possible that the idle stepper motor is having problems or there may be a leak in the vaccum lines possibly check the main one going to the brake booster
