I have a 1998 SAAB 900 SE turbo, and had a cooling leak from the lower hose and I overheated twice until i was able to make it to a gas station. I temporary fixed the leak at that time but then my battery died and have to call service for battery assistant. Bottonline, I was able to turn it on but there was a lot of steam coming out the exaust. I drove the car for about 3 miles and was making funny noise and it was very weak but at some point the car lost complete power and died in the middle of the highway. Now, when I started the car from the gas station, I heard a strong noise like an explosion, and later on I discovered that the upper hose had a big hole on it with a missing wall segment (probably the explosion I heard). I checked the oil and looks milky. My questions are, What is the most likely diagnosis? Did I blow off the head gasket? Could it be a piston? the block? something else more simple? Just the hose? Any help and feedback will be really appreciated. Thanks a lot Gustavo

SOURCE: Check Engine Light!

Sounds like you will need to have the codes read at SAAB dealer to confirm no fautly sensors have caused this to happen.
There may still be a bad component that is triggering lamp.

SOURCE: how to relace clutch cable on 1995 saab se 900 turboon saab 900se

1. Remove the battery.
2. Remove the clutch cable end from the clutch arm end at the wire stop.
3. Slide out the rubber doughnut from the gearbox housing which holds the clutch cable
4. Move the distribution box nut and the alarm pin attached to it (some modules)
5. Disconnect the clutch cable holder from the fender and the data link holder.
6. Remove the drivers lower panel below the steering wheel and remove the air duct as well as the knee shield.
7. Slide out the fuse box holder and ICE Box (should be a black box with many wires going to it). You can remove the instrument cluster at this point but you can also do this without removing the cluster with a little patience
8. Move the pedal spring to one side and remove the eye catch for the cable.
9. Remove the clutch cable by pulling it out from the engine compartment
10. Reinstall in the reverse. Saab actually came out with a bulletin which Needed one to install two washers at the back of the new cable instead of one. The factory cable comes with one but you can remove the 2nd washer off the old cable and install it on the new cable so two exist. This helps take up excessive pedal slack.

SOURCE: WHITE SMOKE COMING IN VENTS INSIDE CAR. SMELLS

sounds like your heater core has a leak in it. take your sunroof off and get some rubber revitalizer at a glass shop. Try cleaning it and using the rubber rejuvenator on it.

My Saab 900 se turbo 2.0l 4 cylinder Stals out when I push down on the gas pedal. If I release soon enough it cuts back in. any solutions?

Likely has a vacuum hose leak. The hoses all die from the massive heat generated by the turbo engines. Check all the ones on the throttle for cracks.

Stalling/possible overheating in engine, but not registering on the temp gauge

If it is a turbo, check the Turbo BypassValve. Also check all vacuum hoses, after 100 Kmiles replace them all.
