Question about 1999 GMC Yukon

2 Answers

1999 Yukon cold start problems. I replaced the fuel pump, fuel relay module, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, battery, alternator, starter, throttle position sensor, spark plugs, spark plug wires & distributor cap. Fuel pressure is fine 60 psi. Checked for spark, sparks just fine. I put a little gas down the throttle and it started but eventually died. I started having this problem in the mornings only until it gradually worked it's way to not start at all.

Sounds like same problem I'm going thru right now. After setting for hours, starts hard. Eventually just stopped starting altogether. At shop now.

Had replaced fuel filter, checked fuel pressure (58lbs) held steady after shut down for over 5 minutes with little decrease in pressure.

I have the same issue. Over the past few months I have replaced the Fuel Pump, fuel filer, EGR valave, PCV Valve, and just recently the ignition coil. It ran fine for a day and then back to having hard starting problems and misfiring at speed. I'm heading to the store right right to pick up and change the crankshaft position sensor. It the only thing I can think of that it might be. If this doesn't work, I may change the camshaft position sensor.

    More to follow....

    Good luck

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Check the condition of the wiring coming off of the ECM. at the fender. I've seen the wiring insulation rub off causing no starts.

Car wont start not the battery

Starter switch, starter relay, or starter motor. If it cranks, but don't start, check fuel pressure. If pressure is not good, then replace fuel filter, fuel pump relay, and/or fuel pump (in that order) If fuel pressure is ok, then its ignition. check and/or replace coil or igniton module.
