Mazda Eunos AZ3 MX3 4 cylinder b5 motor

Wears out atlernator fan belt every six months. nobody can work out why?? tightened regularly but just ends up breaking!

    was checked by auto electrician a year or so back because of the same ongoing problem, He said the alternator was normal. Thanks

Check that with the belt off you can turn the pulley on the alternator by hand this may be a bit seized and cause the belt to break.

I agree. Your alternator could be delivering good output but still have worn bearings. Have it rebuilt.

I had the same problemn .your alternator is seized up and that is why your belts keep breaking

How to tighten alternator belt on 1993 pathfinder


Four cylinder engine - loosen bottom pivot bolt on alternator, then loosen top bolt and pull the alternator away from the engine to tighten belt. When at proper tension, tighten top bolt to hold tension and tighten bottom pivot bolt.
Six cylinder engine - loosen the lock bolt at the bottom of the alternator, then use the adjustment bolt (perpendicular to the lock bolt) to tighten the belt tension. Once properly tensioned, tighten the lock bolt.

well if you unhook the ground lead from the battery while running it will tell you.it will run without the battery but not the atlernator .

Firing order Mazda eunos 30x


Australian version, also called Mazda MX-3 Precidia, Eunos 30X, Eunos Presso, Autozam AZ-3, Mazda AZ-3.

On 1.8L (K8) and 2.5L Engines Firing order: 1-2-3-4-5-6 Distributor rotation: Counterclockwise

Squeel like birds when driving, no squeel when parked with enginge running. its an mx5 eunos


This sounds like a squeaking fan/drive belt.

Check and tighten as needed.

Either tighten the fan/drive belt or replace it .. it is loose ...

Regular is fine. I have a 626 as well with manual and it says regular.
