How could the timing belt cause a parking brake light flash? (That is the light he's talking about) This may mean you have low fluid. Check your ABS and brake fluid levels.

Good possibility you need a new timing belt

Hi, I have a Subaru Impreza Hatchback 1996 model. Today a warning light appeared on the dashboard, the light then disappeared 5mins later & hasn't turned back on since. The warning light was...

The light is a warning light telling you there is a fault with your braking systems you need to take it to a local garage and tell them so they can check your brakes are still working as they should

It could be your handbrake cable underneath the car it goes all the way down the car it could be loose or broke.

Red exclamation mark

It's either a broken hand brake light sensor of your brake pads needs to be replaced.

A red light keeps flashing on my dashboard then going off again. It is an exclamation which isn't the handbrake. In the centre of the console

It could be the brake pad wear sensor - or a simple electrical fault with one of them.

Worth unplugging, checking you have continuity, then plug back in with a light smear of vasaline on the pins to keep the salt out.
