not sure what it looks like kind of old for me but i will try to help. with most cars they have some screws hold down a cap or a cap the should slide over the center cover. and with that pulled off then should be some screws which holds the spring pad for the horn contacts and the ring. you may want to pull the horn fuse so it does not keep going off while trying to get it apart.

Disconnect horn 1997 cadillac deville

The 'A' and 'F' note horns are located underhood at the front right corner of the vehicle. To "disconnect" the horns, pull off the electrical connectors or remove the horn relay in the underhood fuse block. If they are on continuously, consider replacing this horn relay, but the problem may be in the steering wheel assembly.

How to instal the horn on a 1957 Chevy

Ok there should be a single wire coming out of the steering column. This wire comes from the horn bottom behind the steering wheelThe wire might be shorted because of it's age. If that is the case a wire can be run outside of the steering column with a after market horn bottom. The signal wire will go to a horn relay. the relay will have to have a fused power source and is usually mounted on the core support or fender well. The relay will also have a terminal for the wire going to the horn or horns which are usually mounted on the core support on each side of the radiator. I hope this answers your question Jim

Remove steeringing wheel in cadillac 1988 sedan deville ?

The steering wheel should be turned so the wheels are turned straight ahead before you start
the work. And the wheel should be locked so you can align the wheel correctly when
re-installing.

1) Take off the two 8mm on back of steering wheel that hold on the horn pad. Twist and detach the
connector/wire that goes to the horn. Remove the horn pad.

2) Remove the nut and retainer holding on the wheel.

3) Use a steering wheel puller to remove the wheel. You can get a loaner steering wheel puller from
autozone.

So why are you removing the steering wheel? Let me guess, the wheel is loose?!

The horn on my 02 Odyssey will not blow. I've checked the fuse and relay but they were both good. I believe the horn ring or the contact may be broken. How do you get the steering wheel off?

Before you pull the wheel (which involves removing the air bag unit) you can test the horn switch at its connector with the cable reel (newfangled horn ring). First remove the dashboard lower cover under the steering column. Remove the steering column upper and lower covers. Disconnect the dashboard wire harness connector (4 pins) from the cable reel. Check for continuity between the cable reel no.2 terminal (light green/blue stripe wire) and body ground in each horn switch position. There should be continuity when horn is pushed and no continuity when horn is released. If one or both continuity checks fail, then you'll have to remove the airbag and change out the cable reel.

1998 cadillac, the horn just went off 3am in the morning, would not stop..until I pushed on the steering wheel part of the horn..car was locked..I had to get out of bed to stop it! WHY WOULD IT JUST GO...

I have a 1977 Cadillac Seville and it does the same thing, and when the outside temperature drops below 65 degrees the horn will sound continuously until either the horn relay or the horn fuse is removed.

The problem is in the horn pad on the steering wheel, and the contact plates inside of the horn pad are too close together (a manufacturing defect) and when the temperature drops down to a certain degree then the horn pad will contract and cause the metal contact plates inside of the horn pad to touch and make contact, and it is same thing as if you were pushing on the horn pad.

I have also heard of the exact opposite happening and when the temperature gets too hot the horn pad will expand and cause the metal contact plates to touch and make contact and activating the horn.

Repair horn assy how do you remove the assy

Are you speaking of the horn? Or the horn relay? Or the horn button? Or the horn button split ring armature? To remove the horn assembly in the steering wheel you will need a steering wheel puller and a U shaped clamp that will screw down to the steering bolt you will need a 3/4 socket with a 3-inch extension and a ratchet. You will also need to picks to pull center snap ring off to get to the parts under the plate for the horn. To remove you will need to buy 2 security nuts tork wrenches #8 I believe, you will have to disconnect the battery before working on it as the bag could explode if you do not have the battery disconnected. After removing the positive side of battery cable wait 5 minutes before proceeding. Then remove the two bolts that hold the front horn assembly and air bag from the rear of the steering wheel next remove horn air bag assembly and disconnect the wire for the air bag. Place horn to the side then remove the 3/4 bolt out from the center, next install steering wheel puller on the steering wheel and put in three bolts and tighten them evenly so that the puller is on straight. Screw center bolt into the steering bolt until the wheel comes loose, remove steering wheel and place it at the side, next use the U shaped clamp to press the center plate down 1/4 inch to be able to clear the snap ring around the steering wheel. With one pick hold the ring in place with the other force it between the steering wheel bolt and work the ring up and out of the grove it sits in. Next work it all the way up till you have it in your hand, and do not lose. Now pull plastic plate off if you put the wheels straight then it will go on the same way you pulled it off because it's keyed mark it with a felt tip pen so you don’t have to hassle with keying it in again. Next remove the plate and there you will find the horn contacts and the round disk that the connectors push against, so if you need more info just ask on this post.

My 2002 cadillac escalade horn doesnt work.

The click sound is the horn relay operating, it could be a blown fuse, a bad horn relay, a bad horn, or a bad ground at the horn.
