Question about 2003 Honda Accord

1 Answer

Radio code My battery had died, and it had reset the radio code on my '03 accord ex (coupe). Dealership is charging $60 to take out the radio to look at the serial # on the back of the radio to get the code to punch in. Is there another way of getting the code for the radio?

i got it!!! I had to take out a fuse from under the hood, to reset the radio. Then what i did was hold down #1 and #6 on the radio(while it;s still turned off) at the same time, and without letting go, turned on the radio. By doing this, the radio displayed the serial number, 4 numbers at a time....then what i did, is called the honda dealership and gave them the serial number, in which they typed it into their database and gave me the code for the radio. Hope this helps someone in the future!

Unfortunatly the code is directly tied to the S/N of the radio. Without the serial there isn't much I can do for you. But If you are handy with a wrench and can remove the radio yourself, then I can more than likely get a code, but I too would need the S/N.

Hope this helps

My battery died and i soon i jump it back it ask me for a code in my radio. i have a 2004 accord coupe ex-l . how do i fix this problem?

Hopefully it's somewhere with the paper work for your car, should be 5 digits. If not the
dealer will have to get radio serial no. to obtain the code. Good luck.

disconnect battery and let it set for an hour , reconnect battery, it should power up, if not check your fuses, turn radio on code should come up, using your six preset radio buttons( # 1-6) type in the code and it should reset

Battery is dead in my 2003 honda accord coupe and radio is off....my vin number is 1HGCM72233A026049 MY EMAIL IS SEXYRED28@HOTMAIL.COM

there could be a parasitic draw (battery draw when vehicle is turned off), bad battery ground, bad alternator, bad battery, or a bad connection at the battery itself. if you have a bad connection at the battery terminals, then the vehicle wont charge correctly. give the battery connections a good through look.

good luck.

Cant find radio fuse

I'm sorry if this sounds a little too vague, but when the exact same thing happened to our Accord, my husband handled it and I wasn't really involved. Someplace you should have a card (It's either in with your papers if you bought the car new or if you bought it used, hopefully the last owners left in the glovebox or ? .) that has a 'security code' on it for 'resetting' the radio, etc. (There's some sort of an auto-shut-off in case someone is trying to steal your radio, etc..). When you follow the directions on the card and punch-in the numbers, it automatically resets and the radio and lighter* come back on (*BTW, I'm not sure if our lighter ever went out...??). If you can't find the card, then you'll have to go into a Honda dealership (They will NOT give out the # over the phone!) and by using your VIN they can look-up your #, although I don't know if they charge for this service or not. Hope this is of some help to you! BEST OF LUCK!

I cannot get my radio to reset on accord ex 2005. i have the code

I just went thru this with my dealer. As you probably know, to get the correct code, you must have the radio serial number. My Accord EX has the navigation system, so that was the first problem I had to solve. The dealer had a service bulletin to tell me that. The Radio code on a 2005 Accord EX is only 4 digits. His computer showed 5 digits for the code. So he called Honda and the gave him the correct code for my serial number. It had no relationship to the 5 digits obtained from his computer. Nice, huh?
