If the wrong code has been entered too many times the radio is likely to be permanently blocked.
Each time a code is entered wrongly or the wrong code is used there will be a waiting time before the code can be tried again and each time that waiting time will be longer; up to several hours.
It is important to enter the code and activate the radio precisely so check the procedure in the manual before starting then if the code won't go in assume you have the wrong code.
The correct code can be purchased from the dealer or various internet sites offer "find your code" services. Alternatively it is possible to have the radio re-coded or decoded. Bear in mind the radio could be permanently blocked and effectively useless..
If factory installed put on radio. The safe sign will appear. There should be a 4 digit code for the radio.Punchin the code using numbers 1-4.Press repeatedly from number 1 till for the fist digit number 2 for the second digit etc.when you have punched the code in the safe sign will appear.Briefly press loud /expert then wait a few seconds your radiio should then display .Look for your favourite channels .If you punch in the code wrong there is a waiting period.First attempt wait 21 seconds ,second attempt1.5 minutes 3rd attempt5.5 minutes...4th attempt22 mins.5th attempt1.5 hrs. If this fails ,disconnect battery and start again
ok rpt stands for repeat. when it says that it is the wrong code that you are putting in. you only get three trys on this. after the third time it will say off. you must wait 2 hrs with the stereo on until you can try putting a code in. you need to find the right code for that stereo.inside your manual book there should be a credit card size card that has a four digit code on it. that is your stereo code. put that in and your stereo should be up in running. good luck
Yes that's right, It might be heard for you bring it out the radio. I heard the same problem for about 2-4 days after I purchased my Ford Mondeo. I opened the car drower next to the drivers seat and looked up inside it. behold I found the serial no and the key code. Before then I already tried so many codes such as 1111, 9022 for every wrong code you will need to wait another 30minutes after which I tried 1234 then It changed from "wait 30minutes" to "TEN"
I continually pressed and robb the upper layer keys it brough back the code option which I now entered the real code. and right away my radio was unlocked.
Try searching your car all around I might be hiden somewhere. Remember the car is yours.
