2007 Wrangler Unlimited X, Automatic

Bought my jeep in December, '07. A few months ago, driving 45mph on open highway, my car lunged and, in parallel, all the lights that exist lit up on the dashboard like a xmas tree. Car lunged so bad, my water bottle went flying out of cupholder. Lasted couple of seconds then back to normal. Very disturbing. Took to jeep dealer who checked it out, found nothing, not even on car computer. They suspected my automatic car went out of gear and I assured them it did not. I told them I was in the process of decreasing my speed slowly for a truck in front of me. But, there was no mad attack of the brakes, just a very slow brake. Hence, their feeling about the gear issue. Last weekend, again, same thing. I was more 'aware' having gone through this before. Driving about 65mph on open highway, no one near me, no application of brakes. Out of the blue, it felt like the engine shut off for a few seconds and my car's momentum created the same lunge affect. All lights on dashboard lit up and within a couple of seconds, back to normal. It felt like I lost engine power for those few seconds. Not control lost of the car. Very concerning when I am driving at this rate of speed. Only has happened these two times. Any idea?

I have the same problem. I think it has something to do with the traction. There is a light on the lower dash behind the gear shift. It comes on and the vehicle lung like you said. Not sure why, all roads were dry. It has happened a few times to me.

There was a recall for this issue involving reprogramming the TIPM. If yours has been done and is still acting up then you need to make sure they fix it. Dont let them give you some BS runaround like its your fault. From what I read, Jeep dealer service departments love to use the "its a jeep thing" excuse and blow off customer complaints they dont want to or dont know how to fix. If the service writer is not taking care of you tell him you want to speak to the service manager or service director. If they wont take care of it call chrysler, they have a number you can call to get some types of customer service problems taken care of. If they still wont fix your jeep take it to another dealer and when the first dealer sends you the customer service survey (which they should about a month after your service appointment) blast them on it. Let them and chrysler know how dissatisfied you are. And a bonus to that is they get paid for maintaining high customer service scores and a bad survey will drop their score and hopefully their bouns money.

2008 jeep wrangler hood problem

I just bought a 2008 jeep wrangler and my hood is lifting 2 to 3 inches off the frame when I'm driving on the highway in wind speeds over 15 to 20 mph. I've owned two jeep wranglers in the past and I've never had this problem but chrysler keeps telling me this is normal. What's normal about a hood that is lifting off the frame?

REMOVING STOCK SHIFTER FOR 4X4 ON 07 WRANGLER

The 4WD shifter knob on the 2007 JK's is ridiculously hard to remove. Pull straight-up with all your might, then after that fails, get some towels, and a chunk of would with a long pry bar. Hopefully you won't crack your center console.

Engine shuts off for a few seconds and restarts all idiot lights come on

You may want to check with factory recalls. There was a letter sent to 2007 owners about a computer upgrade to solve loss of sudden power along with some ABS issues.

Two front automatic windows will not work

Check the door connectors. Remember your Jeep was designed to have it's doors removed? Start there.
If no luck pull the dahsboard switch apart and reverse the wires front to back.
Unless you're over 36,000 miles it should still be covered under warranty.

That's not a remote starter on your key chain, it's a keyless entry for an alarm system.
