I believe there is a fuel pressure regulator on each bank maybe the one not betting fuel is defective

on a 97 5.7 liter the regulator is located on the CPI unit under the upper plenum. The upper plenum will need to be removed from the engine in order to gain access to the regulator.

Basically you will remove the metal fuel lines from the top of the engine. Unplug all the connectors. remove the throttle cables, disconnect vacuum lines, unthread EGR pipe, and remove the bolts holding the plenum in place.

Control arm

1.remove the door trim paneland the plastic watersheild.
2.this u can skip if u can keep the glass out ur way. but remove the glass.
3.disconnect the electrical connector from the reulator motor.detach the cables from the inside handle.
4.remove the bolts holding the regulator/motor assembly.
5.installation is the reverseof removal.lubricate the rollers and wear points on the regulator with white grease before installation.
6.wear gloves when working inside the door openings to protect from sharp metal edges.

Remove the door panel. You will see the motor, remove the thre star screws, then remove the motor. Remove the motor cap which is held on by one screw. you will see three plastic plugs, remove these and replace with new ones or ball barrings if defective. Pack with grease when reinstalling. Now if it is not the motor then you have a defective regulator. Start by removing the pens holding in the regulator using a hammer and a punch, then drill out the aluminum rivits using 1/4 inch drill. Replace these with 1/4 bolds and lock nuts. Punch out and remove the aluminum holding in the glass, replace these also with 1/4 bolts and lock nuts. If one is going bad then likely all of them will follow. Purchase the regulators and motors if defective on on line,much cheaper. It will take you about 4 hours to replace the first motor and window reglator.

the window is hooked in to a braket in the door to the reglator could of poped out and fell or something is wrong with the regulator where it mounts to the inside the door have to pull off interior panel to see inside door

Did you check the window reglater it may be going out. The wire could be lose or it may be shorting out at the door panail

i do theses regulators all the time . its not hard to change the motor . you may need to drill out the rivits and replace them with bolts and nuts

no they are exact opposites. yes door panel need to be removed.
