You flooded it. RX8's are finicky machines. You can't just start it up, move it, then let it sit. The temp gauge has to get to at least the C. See YouTube about how to correct this issue.

You'll need to hook up a battery charger. This could take up to 20-30 mins.
1. Put the keys in the ignition.
2. Press the gas pedal to the floor and hold it there
3. While leaving the pedal to the floor, start the car and let it crank for 5 seconds.
4. Turn the key off.
5. Repeat steps 2-4 until it starts up. (The car will sputter and spew like crazy, but this is normal)

Mike is referring to the deflood mode. With gas pedal floored while key is turned to cranking the engine computer ( Wide Open Throttle Signal)is programmed to and shut the fuel injectors off while cranking the engine. This keeps the engine from being fed more fuel and worsening the condition. Cranking the engine over with no fuel being injected can clean out the flooded engine and spark plugs to allow the fuel that is already flooding the engine to stop flowing and dry things out.
Rarely works but worth a shot.

Is it possible you left a light on in the car?
is it making any noise or its cranking just not starting or is it making a fast ticking noise?

My Mazda RX8 2004

I will never buy a mazda again. They have bad transmissions and engines. What is worse they use the same parts as Ford. How in the world do you combine a japanese and american parts into one engine? It keeps breaking down, thats what happens. I would ride it out since you are already gettin an engine but if you haven't purchased it, sell it and put that money towards another car, the dealer has used you like a gold digger.

2004 RX8

hopefully you didnt use too much starting fluid. you dont want youre rx8 to be a crack baby. but as ardyrr said it is common for plug fouling and packs going bad. check packs for discoloration on the back side. if present, replace packs. if plugs are fouled replace them too. wires are probably damaged too or next in line to go. and when replacing parts please use oem or performance parts. cheap aftermarket parts will only cause more problems in the near future.
