Feb 7, 2007 - Sometimes when I press the gas pedal seems like nothing happens car doesn't accelerate at all only it loses the power and finally comes to a Stop, and sometimes it recovers (shakily) and keeps on truckin'. ... To begin with, is your "check engine (CE)" light on? If it was on and now its not, you need to replace the bulb. If CE lights is on, find out the codes before doing anything. If bulb is good and "CE" does not come on, begin with: (1) gapping spark plugs, (2) replace spark plug wires (if haven't changed them within the last 2), then the coil. If your Cinco is still idles rough, adjust gas pedal until idling smoothly. If this still doesn't help, replace your two oxygen sensors. If still running rough, the converter. After doing all this and problem is still present, take it to a mechanic you trust.

I don't know this specific car. But, if it has one, check your Idle Air Valve. This can cause the engine to stall. If you can hold the gas pedal and the engine will continue to run until you let off the gas, it is likely the IAV. It will not necessarily cause the engine to run rough. That could be a number of things like spark plugs, wires or dirty injectors. It could also be a compression problem. Is the check engine light on?

Should be on or near the fuel injector supply rail.

Possibly blocked fuel filter, when you press the pedal it starves the engine or fuel causing it to cut out. Only a few quid for a fuel filter so I'd start there

You must perform basics first; Spark, compression and fuel pressure must be checked. After those are verified good, look for possible vacuum leaks or fuel contamination.

try to take it to a garage for scan so as to know the problem.but to me it seems thorttle mouth fault.
