Question about 1999 Volkswagen Jetta

Vw jetta i have a 1999 vw jetta and it wont start i have power to everthing and i dont know what is wrong with it

    same thing my 99 jetta won't start just replaced a faulty terminal to the battery windows wont work but everything else works. we also replaced the starter cuz the seloniod was bad. car works if u clutch start it. how to get it to key start.

    my 97 jetta will not crank power to everything cable to thee starter is ok went to the store no problems came back out and wont crank changed the ignition switch sill nothing please help

    1999 jetta wont start not even a click....everything has power but the trunk button and inside gas release. Someone said there is a neutral safety switch?????? Could someone explain that one?

Check the cable that runs from the battery to the starter.

You will have to have the fault codes read by a code reading machine . That will tell you why the engine stopped. I am suggesting that you check to see if the cam shaft is turning when you try to start it as the timing belt may be broken. Repair/replace items listed by the codes -reset the CPU with the code reader

sometimes the relays can be found underneath the carpets or plastic panels under the dash. have you checked the fuses?

i cant help you with anything but the radio, but dont just check the fuse-you have to actually remove it for about one minute and put it back in. it shuold then work! ughhhhh VW!!!! thank god for sites like these!

how many miles on the car a no start can be for many many reasons but we can always come to the drawing board for an answer so please let me know how many miles and what else you had to remove to take the battery out??
