Question about 2004 Volkswagen Golf

2004 Golf 4 tdi

Hi guys, i have a golf 4 tdi. It makes a continuous sqeeking noise after i start it . Even when the car is warm or just idling same story. Sumwhere in the bonnet or one of the belts.

    Yes it goes away when giving a quick rev. Wil have a look tongiht and leavefeedback.Thanks for the advice.

    I tightend which belt i felt was loose and it seems like the noise dissapeared.Thanks buddy:-)

It is one of the drive belts if you give it a quik rev the noise goes away if this is the case have a feel wich belt is the most loose and tighten.

yes it does but to repair it will cost more for the parts than its worth ,a spare can in the boot is a cheaper solution

injectors may be bleeding down causing a loss of fuel pressure making it hard to start,or fuel pressure regulator,sounds like some kind of lack of fuel pressure

Starting problem with 1995 VW Golf TDi


if there is a clicking noise, its probably the solenoid on the starter. that unit pushes the starter motor forward and also connects the live of the starter.

We think it could be the engine management system - would recommend going to a reputable garage for it to be reprogrammed.

Power steering


Hi,
My best guess is that the drive belt to the hydraulic pump is loose / worn, and it slips when wet. Also the extra load imposed on the system by turning when stationary causes it to slip even when dry.

Check that first :-)

its a problem with some golfs
type worn coil pack golf tdi on google and you should see everything on it. i think theres an uprated set out now don't quote me on it tho!
