dont think the two are connected ,put a code reader on it and see what it shows ,if the engine breather pipes are split or perished this will throw the engine light on ,they are under the front manifold right hand side
these are 2 seperate problems, the gas gauge is the gauge sending unit inside the fuel tank, replace it, the coolant light is caused by the coolant level sensor in the side of the radiator, remove it and clean it, if it still indicates low coolant replace it.
