Where is the thermostat housing located on a 4cyl.

Follow the top radiator hose back to the engine. Where the hose meets the engine is the housing for the thermostat.

Speedometer stopped working

You probably need a new speedometer cable. It may be too old of a car to try and find one from a salvager. They periodically send the older cars to be crushed.
The cables have been known to break apart after many years of service. It is connected at the transmission and behind the instrument cluster. You have to pull the cluster out part way and reach behind to unclip the cable from the back of the speedometer housing.

How to stop squeaking breaks on my 2007 nissian maximum

Brake squeak can be from a wear indicator which is a metal clip that touches the brake disc when the pads wear thin. If there is plenty left on the brake pads removes them and cover the BACK and the top and bottom bit of the pad where it meets the housing/caliper with copper grease. NEVER APPLY where the pad front meets the disc

Headlamp lens cover removal, appears simple, but is it? I hate to start prying it off the clips to find out there's more than meets the eye? Thanks, Don Carter

I'm not that familiar with 1999 Town Car headlights, but your headlights do not have covers. The housing is all one piece with the bulbs screwed into the back. I wouldn't pry on any clips near the lense. If you need a replacement housing, I found this one on Ebay at:

Consider replacing the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor). They are reasonable on eBay. It is located on your transmission (near the back almost under your thermostat housing).

How to put in a thermostat

Find the return hose from your radiator, remove the thermostat housing from the engine, (this will be located where the radiator hose meets the engine) pop the old thermostat out and replace, make sure to install the new thermostat the same way it came out, and i have noticed that some thermostats dont come with a new gasket, if not, you may be able to use the one already on your thermostat, if its not in bad shape. Hope this helps and good luck

Ford explorers speedometer just stopped working. everything else is working fine what could cause this

If your speedometer stopped working try replacing the vehicle speed sensor (VSS). This is a fairly easy task and found on the underside of the drivers side compartment near the transmission housing. It has one small retaining nut and a plug-in two wire connection. Spread the clip, pull the connection apart then pull old sensor out. Put a small bit of transmission fluid around the O ring (new). Install in reverse order. Part cost about $18.00. If that dosen't do it then the plastic gear inside the sensor housing may be worn. Hope this helps you.

N13's are terrible for this problem, the odometer stops because of a faulty little nylon cog that has to be replaced, the tacho and gauges in n13 dashed die as well but as far as I know that's because of faulty electronics, if it was just the odometer problem you couldv'e bought the cog off ebay (and with a little mechanical knowledge) you could've taken the dash apart and re installed it yourself but because the other electronics are dying I advise you take it to a dash repairer or you can try getting out a soldeing iron and try to replace all the faulty connections yourself.

Where is and how do i change a thermostat on a 1990 corolla?

based on my memory as i dont have the car in front of me it might help if you have the new thermostat and gasket in front of you-most cars have the thermostat inside of the metal (sometimes plastic) round housing located where the upper radiator hose meets the engine.usually 2 or 3 bolts hold it on. however quite a few cars have have the thermo. located where the lower radiator hose meets the engine.before you start pulling things apart, eyeball the upper and lower "housing connectors" and usually you can eliminate one because it will be the wrong size, depth or shape-meaning theres no way the new part will squeeze in that spot. let me know how you make out.
