Hi CR LeJeune-

It sounds like the oil return passages in the cylinder head are partially blocked and trapping oil in the top of the engine (inside the valve cover(s).

I would recommend an oil & filter change, but substitute one quart of Rislone oil treatment for one of the oil quarts. I also recommend Castrol GTX oil; it is the best oil out there as far as forming sludge deposits, which is probably what is blocking your oil return passages.

I would not run the engine for an extended time with the Rislone... no more than 150 miles. This is because the Rislone will break down all the sludge deposits, and ALL KINDS of TRASH / DEPOSITS will be circulating with the oil, stuff that could cause severe engine damage!!!

So if this change gets oil back circulating like it is supposed to, do another oil / filter change, but without the Rislone, and this problem will be solved. BUT if the blockage is so bad that the Rislone does not clear it, you need to remove the valve cover(s) and manually unclog the oil return passages... a job better left for a qualified technician if you are not comfortable tearing into an engine.

CR, I believe this will fix your problem, give it a try and let us know how it goes.... AND PLEASE be so kind as to rate my assistance --- your approval is my ONLY compensation for providing this service.

Thanks!

Why does my 93 Honda Accord run fine and then dies going down the road and will start again and die again?

There is a black fuel relay way up under the top left driver side dash that breaks its main wire solder connections on the circuit board under over-heat conditions. Resolder that relay. Starting fluid will show that you have lost fuel delivery under no start conditions. You can use the breather hose from the valve cover for this test.

Here is the scenario...I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am V6. I was driving down the road and pushed on the gas, the car started slowing down and I pulled off the road. The car then stalled out. No dummy...

The reason why your oil and battery light came on is because thats what shows up with the key in the on position..that has nothing do do with anything. I would get a test light or volt meter and test the wires connected to fuel pump. in most cases it can just be a bad connection...gm is known for that. and inline electric fuel pump will not work and is not safe. You need specific pressure comming from the fuel pump. and it will not be connecting to an inertia switch(a switch which shuts of in shock of an accident to cut off the fuel pump) its worth the money to get the fuel pump if thats what you need.
but check those wires and connector first

2008 infinitit g37s died going down the road no oil light but was low on oil added oil still wont start

Sorry to hear this as this is practically a 'new' car and if Infiniti want to keep their reputation they will want to sort it. If it were me I would be well P******* ! Check all fuses. Is battery OK - check by putting lights on at full beam they should stay bright with no appreciable loss for more than 30 seconds. Check no oil pouring from out of bottom of car - catastrophic engine failure.

1994 Dodge Intrepid ES - Suddenly died on road

A Car need 3 things to run, Air , Fuel and Spark. Start troubleshooting by checking for spark, if no spark prob the coil packs or ICM. Iff you have spark then move to the fuel, remove the cap from the tank and have somebody listen where you fill it up for the buzz of the pumps initial prime. you can also break one of the fuel lines loose and check for fuel volume and to ensure it is pumping. if it is not pumping check all relays and fuses and check to ensure you are getting power to the pump before you replace it.

Car up and died.

Check the Belt Tension. If it is even just a little loose it could cause this Problem.

My 94 honda accord keeps dieing out

Could be a couple things but it sounds like maybe your fuel pump is going out. There could also be a clog somewhere along the line. Try adding a fuel cleaner/additive to the tank when you fill it next time, see if that helps.
