I've got a 1600 fuel injected Honda Civic, the clutch gave in a couple of days ago, i could put the car in gear, but it wouldnt move. I was told the gearbox needs to be removed ... i'm having it replaced in 2 days time (only time the mechanic could do it) i'll see if i can help and see exactly how its done.

You could do this job your self just pay attention and take your time. If the gear box went out you may want to replace the whole transmission all together. It will save you time and money in the long run. If it has a lot of miles it probably wont be long before the rest of the transmission goes out trust me i have three of them with the same problem that are no good.

I put new clutch kit in 1995 honda civic it wont engage in gear

If there was no issue but only a poor clutch prior to your work then the settings of the clutch must be rechecked. Make sure that the clutch functions to disconnect the transmission or else the settings might be wrong.
Secondly in the process of the clutch changing it is possible that the gear movements or levers have be misaligned. please check on this section.
