Only thing you can do is go to the dealer and give them your VIN number and your licence to show you own the car and they will order you one.. and it cost i think 90 for it. or more.

My wifes 91 accord battery lamp came on and lost all dash lights and radio, she pulled into a store parking lot, the battery lamp went off and other functions resumed. what could it be?

Alternator belt may be bad/slipping.
Alternator plug or wiring may be faulty.

The vehicle runs off the alternator, so your inspection should be pertaining to anything alternator. Of course the vehicle's computer may have issues - or a loose plug as well.

Thanks!!

1993 Jaguar xj6 won't start, battery drained of power. Went away over xmas and new years so have not used our 1993 Jaguar xj6 for more than 4 weeks (probably more like 6 weeks!) and battery hence lost all...

Is the car immobilized? if so you may have to lock and unlock the car with the key and not the remote.

Is it turning over or just nothing, also starter motor may be jammed. put the car in gear with the hand brake off and push the car forward until you feel the engine turn over. You dont need the keys in the car!

This should free the starter off, sometimes they jam very tight and will not move at all, on these jags. they get rusty quickly if sat about. I had a XJ many years ago great motors.

Good luck.

My remote will not open my 1998 XJ8 Jaguar....my key will not open the door...why?

I had a similar problem with my Lexus. I went to Lexus and they re-programmed it. Somehow it got corrupted or lost the code. This may sound stupid but are you sure it's not the batery? Is it the glow type?

Car wont start

this is a simple troubleshooting issue....first go buy the mechanics manual from the auto store then go with the little stuff first try all your fuses battery cables and relays then flip your inertia switch and alternator maybe its not charging and the batteries dead if that doesnt work take it to them dirty guys with all those expensive tools but flip the inertia switch first sounds like an electrical problem

Fob will not work changed battries and still no luck

lost one of the key fobs to a 2007 mercury montego. dealer gave me a used one for free and instructed me to turn ignition key on and off 12 times but without starting the car. next, try key fob. worked for me. if you have 2 key fobs, you may have to reprogram both, so i would change batteries in the other one as well, but only after the non working one proves good.
