Hi, we have the exact same problem with our 2002 T&C Van. We are not sure of the problem. The dealer thought it was the remote starter that we had installed at another car place. We went to them and they said that the problem is with the chips in the keys not reading properly. I'm going to start looking for loose electrical wires from the battery to the main fuses. Not sure what to do at this point. T.B. - Green Bay, WI

sometimes wipers will come on when it dies, other times it just dies about 4 seconds after starting and then will not turn over. Radio still works, so the battery is not dead...had the whole charging system checked, nobody knows what the problem is.

Hay I have the same problem and got the same answer. Nobody seems to know what to do. They just point the finger at the other dealership or say it's someone else problem and Ishoud take it there. Welcome to Green Bay Wi. If some one can point me in the right direction or to a person that can fix this town and country let me know. tomd@optionsil.org. thanks frustrated.

I recommend you go to your dealer, this sounds like a communication problem, you could have shorted bus wires. It is possible one of the modules, I suspect the bcm or insturment cluster, may be at fault. This does not sound like a sentry key issue. You'll be surprised what a scan tool and a good tech can tell you. Also, for future reference, aftermarket autostarts, etc, do cause issues on these vehicles, they do not power up all the modules in the vehicle and consequently cause erronious codes and electrical failures.

Van sometimes will not turnover when you turn the key, just makes a clicking sound. You can try it a couple of times and it will start fine. Had battery checked and it's ok. Maybe starter is going out?

This is typical of a starter going bad. It is caused by the main start relay going bad. The contacts are burned and have lots of carbon buildup on them.

Electrical problem

Turn off the car and pull out the key.
Check the alternator leads and the battery leads if they don't touch any other leads around them.(or each other-short circuit-as for the alternator)
Is the battery charged? It might have even died, partially, thus providing enough power only to the small consumers. In that case the engine wouldn't start- does yours?
Check the fuses, but this might be a serious problem, so replacing the fuses can't be considered a long time solution itself...(if they were burnt)
Can you fire up the engine?
Do the Gauges work right? And the dashboard lights(except those you already mentioned)?

However if you are not really familiar with all this, I'd suggest you to have it done by a car electrician, he could have it finished by tomorrow evening...
