Question about 2001 Chevrolet Malibu
On hot days a/c works ok at first, cold and lots of fan strength but after 0-45 min fan losses strength and cold lessens. I also see water vapor coming out of vents. Turn a/c off for 30 min, turn it back on and a/c is cold again. What's up and what's the fix. I just had the freon charged at the dealer so thats not it.
Look under the hood and if the A/C is blowing cold and there is ice forming on any of the lines (especially the high side) there is a clog in the system somewhere. The cheapest place to start is putting in a new expansion valve a/k/a orifice tube. Freezing up is usually a result of a clog somewhere in the system.
