Hi tusak,
It could be various things, like a loose connector deep behind the instrument cluster, or a blown fuse - check your manual to find out which fuse it is.

First of all though, as a former Golf owner myself, I'd suggest you check the dashboard dimmer wheel hasn't been turned to "really dim". On my old Mk3 it was exactly where a gloved right hand could inadvertently spin it round.

I hope this helps you - if not please post a comment and I'll try again. Thank you. D

My middle dashboard that controls the radio a/c fans is not working I put new fuse in still nothing but the radio works when I use controls on steering wheel I have a Ve omega commodore

What year is your vehicle? It could be a control cluster, or "brain" as it is often called, which is directly behind the AC?Heater control knob. This would require removing much of your dashboard which is NOT a enjoyable experience! Peace. God bless.

Want to remove my dashboard on my 97 BMW 328i

You have to pull the stearing wheel first.
Then go and pull the glove box which should have about 10 screws in it.
then your going to have to take the rest of the torx screws out there should be another 10 of those.
disconnect the soedometer and disconnect the wires connected to the radio.
if your pulling it much further out you may consider changing the heater core because it is a super obnoxious job if you need to do it later.

1998 Oldsmobile Aurora no dashboard or tail lights

well it sounds like a computer issue the one that needs replacement is the " body ecu " it controls the lights, heater, seat belt sound and etc. should be under the dash.

Replace heater core

If you remove all connections to the dashboard: 3 big ones on the right, one big connector held together with screw in the middle near the steering column, vacuum hose connection, connector behind radio, and antenna connection, you should be able to lift the entire dashboard out off of the pivot pins. You will then have access to the plastic heater core cover. Removing the glove box gets you nowhere...it comes out with the entire dashboard assembly

Need to replace heater core

Very very big job. Only do this if you really really love your car. Here is the 100ft overview:

*Disconnect the heater hoses at the heater core inside the engine compartment. (recommend cutting the hoses and replacing with new ones)
*Disconnect the heater valve cable from the heater valve
*Remove dashboard (involves removing steering wheel/column, radio, glove comp, etc)
*Remove the heater assembly (big black plastic box behind the radio)

The core is inside the heater assembly.

Again, this is a big job, and it will probably be very frustrating at times (I know from experience). If you do not have a repair manual for the car and you think you want to try this...get the manual first!

Dashboard lights, radio, locks, and heater do not work, all went out at the same time. A week before, I put in a new battery. What could be the problem? Thanks you. Diana

sounds like a bad relay for the heater blower, and a fuse for the rest.. if you look in your owners manual it will tell you where the fuse is for the radio and locks, and relay for the blower..
