It is located at the engine end of the upper radiator hose. Take the thermostat housing off. When replacing the thermostat make sure the spring goes toward the engine.

They say my 2007 nitro r/t running to cool. Wondering what it could be. Also will this mess up my vehicle.

There is no reason for a car run "too cool". Actually, it's physically impossible. Be carful: your thermostat might be not working correctly, you may have some cooling system problem and might not warn you when your car get's overheated. Read some information on Internet.

02 cadilliac has over heating problems and the check engine light is flashing please help

Assuming the cooling system is full, I would have the computer checked for trouble codes first.
The codes will point you in the right direction to diagnose the problem, but not tell you what to replace.
Depending on how it overheats, problems could include a bad thermostat, faulty cooling fan, or other issues.

Problem with air condition code p1296 the air condition not working

Hello,

The code given by your car indicates that you have problem with the cooling system in your car which is as a result of a faulty coolant temperature sensor(G62) or the problem is from the coolant thermostat.
1.The solution is to check the coolant temperature sensor and replace it if faulty.

2.check the coolant thermostat,if the coolant thermostat is faulty, please replace it.

Thank you for using fixya.

Heater does not work

The heater not working. This problem is related to few possibilities 1) The thermostat can be faulty. 2) the heater blower motor resistor is faulty 3) The heater blower motor it self is faulty. ------------ The The blower resistor is behind glove-box on plenum.Connect the 12 volt battery directly to the heater blower motor and see,if the motor runs then its faulty resistor or thermostat.but if no motor running then its faulty motor. The thermostat is located at the top front of the engine. For easy access follow the top radiator hose. The top radiator hose goes in engine .Take that hose out and thermostat will be seen inside. --------- The thermostat and resistor are not very costly part.So you can directly replace them and see if its helping.First confirm motor is working,by directly by passing the blower motor to 12 volt battery. ------------ This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

The simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.
If the code comes back, the problem is likely going to be the result of the above causes (faulty thermostat, faulty ECT sensor, or a low coolant level) theres your answer need more help just tell me

Heating problem

If you changed the thermostat yourself and have noted that the lower radiator hose is cooler than the upper radiator hose, you may have installed the thermostat incorrectly or have purchased a faulty thermostat. A lower radiator hose that does not get hot (or as hot as the upper radiator hose) is a direct indication of a faulty thermostat. Please vote for this solution if you found this to be helpful. Thanks,

Hi, the thermostat is just behind the bottom hose. The housing can be removed by undoing the 2 10mm bolts. A new thermostat is about £15.00
