Question about 2005 Jeep Wrangler
A/C vacuum line recenlty "fell" off. Found out when the a/c and heat only blew from the defrost vent. When I replaced it, and upon coming to a stop sign or LA stop and go traffic the idle speed rises and falls, rises and falls, then idles normally. Went through the vacuum lines connected and all seem to be in real good shape. One thing is that there is a vacuum line that runs under the battery into a black plastic box..??? Could this be something that has gone bad? or what do you think? Please and thank you very much.
The best fix is to clean out the throttle body with throttle/carb cleaner. Dry up the cleaner fluid and start the engine. You'll see a hole (inside the throttle body) that leads to the idle air control; shoot some of the cleaner in there. The engine may stall while doing this, but restart the engine and repeat a few times. After that, turn the key off and disconnect both battery terminals. With the battery terminals off, turn on your headlights. This will make the system look for power and reset your idle to normal. Reconnet the battery and check the results. Hope this helps.
