Brake light on 2001 chevy blazer LT 2wd

The brake lights on my chevy blazer are not working. Checked the bulbs and fuse, also replaced the switch. Third light works. Turn signals, rear lights and parking lights work. I'm stuck can you give me any advice. It's not getting power when you hit the brakes I also checked that.

For me it started off with the right turn signal not working. I checked fuses and bulbs. That was fine. A friend suggested seeing what happened when I tried the Hazards. When I first turned them on, the right was off and the left flashed faster than normal. I turned them off and turned them on again. They flashed normally. I checked the right turn signal, and it was working fine again. Then a few days later, somebody told me that my lower brake lights were not working. The third light worked fine. I have seen recommendations for it being the brake light switch. I have also seen info on a recall from 2001 for the hazard switch carrier. I dread the possible cost to get this repaired, but I can only take riding the bus for so long as I look around for an answer.

    Hi,

I have the same kind of problem. I have a 2000 Chevy Venture and my rear brake lights are not working. The light at the top of the hatch door is working and the running lights, turn signals and reverse lights are working. Fuses and bulbs seem fine. Does anyone know what the problem is?

I have 2001 Chevy Blazer, top brake and rear brake lights always stay on, except when auto is off. Here's a real quirck, with the auto off and no keys in car, when stepping on brake, the headlights go on along with the brake lights. I heard of changing a relay, I will try that as soon as I can find out where this Relay is. If anyone knows please tell me.

    Thanks

    Dennis

When my blazer did this they had to replace part of the wiring harness in the steering wheel. It took forever for them to get the parts because we live in nowhereville, but once it was in it works again and no problems. I had to take it to the actual chevy dealer because none of the other places had a clue. good luck.

My left brake light/turn signal isn't working! I replaced the bulbs and turn signal flasher! Still not working! Its 2000 Chevy s10 blazer

If the other brake and turn lights are working the brake light and flasher units are ok . With a test light check at the bulb holder terminal and bulb holder body, test light should glow ,if not check from terminal to a metal part of panel away from the light body . If test light now glows the brake light body has a bad earth if the test still not glowing the power cable to the light is broken.

I have a 2001 Chevy blazer windows don't work rear

If windows are electric, check switch and replace if needed.
Check window motors wiring connections. If motors are bas, replace as needed.
If manual, window could be off track or cranking mechanism may be broken. Replace as needed.
If light fuses are good, replace bulbs to the lights.

I am having problems with rear brake lights, checked all bulbs, replaced brake switch, fuses checked, loose wires, both running lights and signal work, car is a2001 chevy lumina

Check the turn signal switch. especially if the center brake is the only brake light that comes on when you step on the brake pedal. Sometimes wiggling the switch will get the brake lights to work momentarily.

2001 dodge ram 1500. Brake lights do not work.

Do the taillights work? If so it might just be the bulb. If not then the wiring is broke some where or loose.

2001 chevy blazer all lights work except the brake lights. The third top light works but not the bottom. Bulbs are good and no fuses are out.

does the 4 ways work? if they do it would be the brake light switch at the brake peddle,,,,,,,,, if they dont the problem is in that red hazerd switch on your steering colum inside it has 3 spring loaded pads that make 3 electrical contacts each so 9 in all and they get sticky from dirt, dust & coffee and hot chocolite dumped on them and stick and burn out. and your brake lights stop working... I could tell you how to fix it but rather diagnose what it is first

Check your wires, the smoke could mean an electrical fire.

Brake lights do not work, all other lights work.

It is a common chevy problem for the circuit board that holds to bulb to fail, are your running lights and signals still working back there as well? If not then you need to replace the boards.

2001 dodge ram 1500 brake lights

I would guess the brake fuse ( this does not use the same fuse as the tail lights/blinkers) or the ground for the brake light bulb.
