Question about 2001 Ford F150 Styleside SuperCrew

1 Answer

Wont start My 2001 F-150 just decided not to start, before I got a jump, when I turned the key I heard click, click, click so on and so on. After I got the jump, it started first try but none of my gauges were working, ie... fuel, water temp, oil pressure, tack. also no lights on the inside were working. After I started driving home, after only a few feet ( 30 or so) it started sputtering, finally stalling out. Now when I turn the key I get nothing, doors won't lock or unlock, windows wont go down or up. Dead! I believe that it's the alternator, do you agree? If not the alternator what else could it be?

Same thing here. I turned on my lights and the door locks unlocked and locked.

I jumped the battery and drove to work. When I arrived at work, I turned off the engine and tried to restart it....nothing but click, click, click coming from a flasher in the fuse box located in the engine compartment.

If you hear a click while turning the key this would indicate low charge in battery any reading under 12 on a tester would have trouble starting other than that loose battery leads have you tried jumping if it starts with a jump this would indicate battery.

Peugeot 307 wont start

By bump start do you mean you can have it pushed or push it, jump in and depress the clutch and get it started using the momentum of the vehicle to turn the crank? I usually call that a jump start but I think I have heard it called bump start (from having it bumped/pushed by another vehicle I think). Anyway if that is the case you need a new starter. If not post back and I will do what I can to help.

My jeep would not start or even turn over but radio, lights all work

Any clicking noises? My first thought is lithe starter has failed. Typically if all the other accessories are working and the starter doesn't when you turn the key it's likely the starter. Usually an a single click is heard everytime you turn the key to the start position. If you heard a series of rapid clicks when you try to start you likely have a weak battery. A jump start may get you going.

06 pontiac grand prix wont start no clicking when you turn the key over even jump starting the battery, has dash lights & radio & parking lights. battery tested good. put a used starter & altinator on

Used parts such as starters and altinators don't last. It might **** but it sounds like you need to buy a new starter, altinator, and battery. Or just start with buying one at a time.

Last week, my 1998 Lexus ES300 wouldn't start (clicking sound) and I thought it was the battery. I jump started it but noticed that it still made the clicking sound, for my first couple of tries, it did...

If car wont start and clicking sound is heard this is a battery related or starter related, if your car battery is in good condition (which I think it was) then the problem is your starter, have it check to confirm.

Wont start!

Clean the battery terminals, make sure they are tight and CLEAN. Use a wire brush to make the teminals shiney clean. If it still does it, it could be the alternator or dead cell in the battery. Wal-Mart, Autozone or O'Reileys will check the battery for free and Autozone or O'Reikeys can check the alternator but it has to be off the vehicle to load test it. I'm told NOT to do it the old fashioned way and I'm not sure why they say not to do it, but we used to get the vehicle running and then disconnect the battery cable from the battery. If the vehicle stops running, the alternator is bad, if it keeps running the battery is bad.
